Children in Need thats the one where Terry picks up 8k an hour. I am not sure BTF you quite understand; the happy couple cannot just have an ordinary wedding because they are our future King and Queen; are they in charge of the guest list? I expect even Prudence Gordon will have to be asked. Do you think that all these tourists will come over to watch a normal wedding aka four weddings and a funeral. It is a commercial opportunity that many in the private sector wealth creators are looking forward to making a bob or two. As a hotelier myself I hope that the cheery people of our great country win through and it is an event to make us proud that fills our bars, restaurants and bedrooms.
-
BTF why are you obsessed with spending other people's hard earned money - are you proposing some form of duty on hoteliers and burger stalls during the weekend so you can give it to Lenny Henry and Dawn French to go to Africa and show them what it looks like when you eat six meals a day?
-
What to the sports section?
-
In my experience it is not the minorities that put a stop to this; it is the Guardian reading intellectual stasi who stir up resentment by becoming 'offended' on behalf of other people.
-
I don't think I'm superior to anyone in any way - equally I'll not be seduced by the hype. Its just that you refer to us as lemmings BTF.
-
'Lemmings' BTF; are you intellectually superior to us ordinary folk? The street parties are in full swing and you will be driving around and around because the roads will be clear?

My family will dress the children up, get the union jacks out and ask the neighbours round; cakes, jelly, burgers, chicken drumsticks, lots of plonk and beer. We will sing along to Jerusalem and I vow to thee my country, play games laugh and have fun. Finally we will sing a rowdy version of the National Anthem and toast the Queen of the greatest people in the World. I almost feel sorry for some of those with their horse hair vests and their self righteous balls.

Do we pay for this research that breaks the dramatic news that alcohol is bad for you. I would suggest we cut there budget and get them to be Doctors again.

It is the language of the schoolyard bully.

You miss the point - Millionairess Public schoolgirl Harriet who went to the same school as Osborne preaches more than anyone else about equality and bigotry and then has a go at somebody for being ginger.

I employ a cleaner in my business, lovely lady but she has told us that she cannot work fulltime now because it effects her benefits. This is the system.

If it is a tax fiddle then it is very relevant.

What could usefully be done with climate change sceptics
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Verbal's topic in The Lounge
It is healthy to want more information before making up your mind. The trouble with the Global Warming Bullies is that they start naming calling when you look for other reasons. In the early part of the last decade I would agree that here the weather was bizarrely warm but we have had three winters that have got progressively colder. -

Actually Ossie we paid up front for Neil Moss as well. You should be grateful we did not write to watchdog! -
Another leader with great experience of living and working in the real world.

Sadly I have not the time to reply in depth to some comments but I would conclude that the level of bile spoken about the World's largest religion illustrates how intolerant to other people's faith people are. The original question asked whether the Pope should have a State visit. I suggested that because he is the Spiritual leader of a billion people he should be afforded that right. If the tax payer picks up the tab for the Notting Hill Carnival then we should for a Papal visit. The crowds I think have justified it. I noted the small demonstration against the visit attracted just a few thousand people. I am not a Catholic but get irked when people rightly scream out for tolerance and then fail to respect other peoples.
-
Somebody asked why the Pope had not answered his critics. I said that he probably believes that he answers to God and not people he does not respect - what do you think!

No the Dalai Lama is not victim to an aggressive smear campaign.
