  1. Makes sense. Not set the world alight, but could be a handy squad player to have with all the extra games we may have to play, if we can get him for the equivalent of £1.5-2m
  2. Di Marzio now reporting Sampdoria's President and Okaka's agent will meet with club officials tomorrow to try and do a deal for Stefano Okaka.
  3. Reports that Osvlado will definitely be back at Southampton were a bit premature it seems. Boca's President appears to have done a u-turn and is willing to either take him back on loan or try and do a player exchange to get him. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/06/05/boca-juniors-seemingly-change-stance-on-southampton-flop-osva/
  4. Indeed. I would think that Okaka is one of the back up options should we fail to land our top priority transfer targets in the position, which at the moment appears to be Charlie Austin.
  5. http://www.thetottenhamway.com/2015/06/04/spurs-target-in-contact-with-eric-dier-says-premier-league-move-a-dream/ Adrien Silva, one of Sporting Lisbon's CMs claims Saints and Spurs are interested in him.
  6. From the Mirror live transfer blog.
  7. I noticed today that the Guardian has a transfer window preview of sorts for all the PL teams, going through what each team will want or needs and how much money is available. Here is the section about Southampton, written by Paul Doyle, their chief football writer. The main body of the writing is fairly obvious, but what is interesting is the speculation that the club is willing to spend 30m plus income from sales. This would mean we could have Base budget: 30m Schneiderlin: 25m (speculated worth) Clyne: 15m (speculated asking price) Giving a total of up to 70m plus whatever we can get if we can shift overpaid misfits like Ramirez and Osvaldo. Obviously if there are sell on clauses and the like involved in the two big sales it could be somewhat lower, but it could be that there is a significant budget to replace what is lost and then some. Do you think this estimate will prove accurate? If not how much do you think we will spend in the close season? In my opinion, I would be shocked if we end up with a 30m net spend. My guess is it will be nearer 10-15m plus sales as I think the club will be playing it safe.
  8. Get French Football ‏@GFN_France 21s21 seconds ago Morgan Schneiderlin "very close" to a move to Manchester United, rather than Arsenal, according to Canal +. More to follow.
  9. I forget if its 70% of competitive international games or all international games, but according to http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/idrissa-gueye/nationalmannschaft/spieler/126665 he's only missed 3 games since February 2012.
  10. More of Idrissa Gueye Looks like a fairly small initial outlay. Be interested to hear if he has done well in the French league or not as this looks like it may happen. Also is this Morgan's replacement or a sign that we may have cooled interest in Vilhena.
  11. Oh well. He was good for the first half the season then he was poor. Just like another defender we sold to them...
  12. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3101495/Liverpool-10million-bid-Nathaniel-Clyne-rejected-Southampton-Brendan-Rodgers-eyes-Glen-Johnson-replacement.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
  13. Never really watched him. Seems there a couple of people who watch alot of Ligue 1 on the forum though. Any opinions on Gueye's ability?
  14. Yeah, he's 30 in July. No chance we get 10m for him. If the Italian clubs want an Italian striker, we do have one available for sale though.
  15. Feyenoord lost their play off game, so no European Football for them next season.
  16. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/578259/Southampton-summer-swoop-Arsenal-keeper-Wojciech-Szczesny Interested in signing Szczesny on a season long loan according to the Express.
  17. Man City, they have more money than sense and a desperate need to sign homegrown players.
  18. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-forward-rickie-lambert-line-5712930 Rickie Lambert to Bournemouth on the cards, supposedly.
  19. The early season success is protecting Koeman for the time being, but if we start next season as we are finishing this one the club will learn that goodwill can erode quickly.
  20. 14 points in 14 games since we beat Man Utd on Jan 17th. Bordering on Relegation form.
  21. Players aren't playing like they are all too fussed about playing in the Europa League next season. Lucky for them it looks like Swansea are ready to save them the hassle.
  22. Gazzaniga - No chance with the first, could have done better on second. Clyne - If he plays like this next season for Man U, there will be laughs aplenty in the defector thread Fonte - Poor. Combined with Toby to form a guard of honour for Vardy. Fortunately the resulting shot was saved. Toby - Worst he's played all season Bertrand - Not at the races today Wanyama - Arsene better tell him that he doesn't sign players who can't make simple passes. Caught in possession so many times it would be funny if he played for another team. Reed - Won't have convinced the manager of his quality. The effort was there though, unlike many others. Davis - What has happened to him? Absolutely shocking once again. Just let Mahrez shoot for the first goal. Mané - Dive dive dive all day long Pelle - No movement whatsoever. Absolute ****house away from home. Elia - Unbelieveable that this guy once played in a world cup final. Send him back Subs: Long - Offered nothing Djuricic - Added a little bit extra, but not enough. In summary a dire performance that suggests a disinterested team and tactics that need refreshing.
  23. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-swansea-join-newcastle-15million-5640768 Supposedly interested in Aleksander Mitrovic, along with Swansea and Newcastle.
  24. Bas Dost? Available for 10m euros according to Bild and linked with us by insidefutbol http://www.insidefutbol.com/2015/05/04/bas-dost-aiming-for-summer-wolfsburg-talks/205777/ http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/vfl-wolfsburg/fuer-zehn-mio-darf-er-gehen-40799768.bild.html&prev=search 14 goals in 18 league appearances for Wolfsburg this season. Though it is a bit misleading as he scored 13 goals (including 4 in one game) in 10 games but only scored 1 in his last 6 and he was not impressive at all in his two seasons in Germany before this one so there is a risk he might be a flash in the pan.
  25. Davis Clyne Fonte Toby Bertrand Reed Djuricic Davis Mane Pelle If RK tries Wanyama/Alderweireld in midfield with Yoshida at CB again, we will lose as it doesn't work. I would alos hope not to see Long play again this season unless Koeman goes for a system that involves two up front and even then I think I would prefer Mané next to Pelle.
