Interesting that we've gone back to the 4231 - I guess Arsenal will have been studying our most recent games and the new shape, and now we're going back to the one we stuffed them with in December. Clasie on the bench worries me, I think we'd be much better off dealing with Sanchez and Ozil with him in place of JWP or Romeu. Lack of Austin is worrying for obvious reasons, especially as Koeman said he may be in the starting line up - I can only assume he's got an injury. The good news with the Arsenal line up is that Coquelin isn't starting; the bad news is that neither is Mertesacker.

I think this year there is a lot a potential to raid some of the relegated teams, more so than last year. Swansea have a few handy players if they go down - Sigurdsson would be high on my list whether the go down or not - and I rate Ki; Newcastle have Krul, Janmaat, Wijnaldum; Norwich have Tettey and Redmond; Bournemouth have Ritchie, Arter, Daniels, etc. To be fair though I'd steer clear of the Aston Villa and Sunderland squads. We need a right back to compete with Cedric, Davis competitor/upgrade, a GK solution (preferably Stekelenberg if he's content with being reserve with Gazza), and replacements for those who jump ship.

Can't help but feel that we're overdue a classic Saints defensive c*ck-up. Let's hope not.

He wasn't in the squad for their cup game against Burnley so I assume he served his suspension then, so he should (hopefully) be back for tonight. Wouldn't be the first time Merson didn't know what he was talking about, would it?
