I thought we looked pretty good with Romeu and Ward-Prowse at DM, back when Wanyama was having his little tantrum. But as it stands - Vic, JWP, Davis for me.

Played the full 90 minutes last night against Newport last night. Lost 2-0, but still, good experience for the lad - and it will keep The9 happy.

Any news on Stekelenberg? I haven't seen any post-match interviews so something may have been said there.

Bloody love the man, he's a natural captain too. Looking back on it, I can't see why on Earth Mr. Nivea was given the armband ahead of Jose.

Only a matter of time before Sturridge gets injured, so soon they'll be back to a front two of (the currently-injured) Benteke and (the currently-useless) Origi.

I'd personally give him a year extension. Stek is going back at the end of the season (so far as we know) and I can't see Gazza staying past this year unless he really improves. Kelvin is obviously content with his role as emergency reserve keeper and I think we could do a lot worse than him.

Can't see Woy ever dropping Rooney, he'll be first name on the team sheet in the Euros as long as he's fit and Hodgson's still in charge. On the BBC Sport website they've asked six 'experts' to pick their starting line-ups for the summer tournament. Stones is in at right back in two of them in favour of Clyne, Kane and Oxlade-Chamberlain are only in one, Wilshere is in all of them somehow, and Michael Carrick is in all but two. Lallana doesn't get a look in, and despite the article lamenting the lack of holding midfielders for England, Cork still gets no mention. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34506013

Vardy starting for England tonight. Hoping he has an exhausting and demoralising game!

Player of the month for September - so West Brom (A), Man United (H), MK Dons (A) and Swansea (H). Well deserved I think, and he's starting strongly for this month too.

Just came across this article on a website when I wasn't even looking for it. I think it must be about a year old, so apologies if posted before, but I found it an interesting read. http://www.wareable.com/sport/weareable-tech-and-footballs-moneyball-revolution-2015

Especially evident with the CBs. Fonte and VvD are already looking more comfortable venturing further up the field as they don't have to worry so much about covering defensive weaknesses at LB. Don't get me wrong, I love Targett but he's just not going to be a starter in the Premier League on merit alone yet - only when he's needed to cover for an injury.

The 5p bag law is only applicable to stores with 250 employees or more. I think the Saints Megastores should be okay and continue with free bags - although they could always take this opportunity to start charging 5p for a bag regardless.

Very glad to see Ivanovic playing!
-
If we have Betrand and Tadic down the left against an out-of-form Ivanovic, there's always a chance.
-
Excellent result, though I wish our two DMs would stop picking up needless yellow cards!

I think Pelle is perfectly capable of fitting in to the style of play we saw last night - quick balls in to feet and so on. For whatever reason, we tend to lump it up top more often with Pelle, but that is presumably the way the team is coached. I think Pelle could be at least as good as Long in this style of play, but he gives us the option of punting it up top when necessary. I think it's more a coaching issue than a personnel issue.

Post-Match Reaction: MK Dons 0-6 SAINTS - Capital One Cup - Round 3
igsey replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Bloody hell, Lallana is still on. Must be a personal record for him, he's gonna need a long nap after this. -
Bit disappointed about the lack of youth - I'd have Wood and Hesketh on the bench at least. Very strong side though, looking forward to this one.
-
Lallana? Regularly? Him and Chambers are the two best examples of players that have left us and gone downhill I would think.
-
Luke Shaw's just had his leg snapped in half 15 minutes into the PSV game, going off on a stretcher with an oxygen mask. Don't expect we'll see him again this season.

Better than smoking, worse than not. E-cigarettes are not currently licensed as medical products and so aren't regulated in the way the other nicotine products (gum, lozenges, patches etc.) are - manufacturers can currently chuck pretty much whatever they like in so long as it's not going to kill a person. This means they can put as much or as little nicotine in as they like in and don't legally have to tell the consumer how much, just whether it's there or not, like saying there is cocoa butter in your bar of chocolate but not saying how much. This will change in 2016, as after the 20th May e-cigs/vaporisers/whatever you want to call them will be licensed as medicines, and so the whole business in this country will change, making them much safer, more effective as a way of losing nicotine dependency, and probably less profitable.

Not much point trying to predict the team, Ron keeps making bizarre choices with the starting line-ups and seemingly refuses to change things before the 70th minute. However, ideally I would have Romeu and Mane in for JWP and Davis. Not sure JRod should be starting either.

He has to play every single minute of every game this season for some reason. He's conserving his energy
