I don’t think they go backwards, but with enough time the opposition just work them out and it becomes predictable. Ultimately if these guys never made mistakes they’d be playing for a top 4 team. Back to the drawing board though, for me season is make or break in the FA Cup anyway, if we can get some confidence back against Watford it would be great, crazy what 1 bad result does for us.

FULL TIME SAINTS 1-2 NEWCASTLE
-
Shane Long is coming on… and that means…
-
Except when it’s us!!!!
-
Right now its gel break time.

I don’t quite buy this signing on stuff anymore tbh. Firstly, blame lies at the PL who let the cancellation and exploitation of the rules take place. Secondly, this is our 2nd game against Newcastle this season, not like we beat them anyway when they were under Bruce. We just lost the luck we could have had when the fixture list came out. Newcastle are fast becoming a bogey team aren’t they… usually we used to win home games and they won the games at SJP.

Chris Wood scores first goal Dan Burn assist then Bruno goal Just need Targett to score now. Newcastle all over us atm, Shelvey probably could have scored. Why is our defence just so fragile.

Bruno typical

tbf I’d say 1-1 is probably just about a fair result. Maybe we edge it for the Broja chance and Adams was unlucky with his effort against the bar but Newcastle have been in the game themselves.

These gel breaks really have to stop now…
-
Literally everyone said he would score as well Should have stuck some money on it typical
-
Chris Wood fuck sake

I can literally hear us chanting “follow follow follow, we got the best team on the south coast” And the commentator on Now Sports says “great support from the away following, the Toon Army”…
-
Dan Burn is bloody tall, looked same height as Fraser Forster during that corner.

Come on then, what's the source of the article? The thread wouldn't be complete without MLG's analysis of the source in question, followed by some statistics from Twar

Nah, we played Wolves away last season in the FA Cup on a Thursday night. We also played Chelsea away on Boxing day on a Thursday (won 2-0) back in 2019. But to answer your specific question, the last Thursday night home game was a 2-1 loss to WHU at home on 27/12/2018 - Felipe Anderson scored twice.

Why are City releasing ticket prices on their website quicker than us 😆 Looks like City have taken 4.8k, same as WHU I think, so will be the whole Northam again for them. Also looks like they are charging different prices to City fans depending on whether they are STHs or not, which is surprising as I thought all away fans regardless of their status with their club would pay the cheapest price the home fans are paying.

Everton going down would be huge... I'd love to see them struggle in the Championship for a few years. Given their Russian owner, proposed stadium plans and almost to the tune of 1/2 a billion squandered, would be great to see them go down and have a fire sale. I see Everton in the same way I see WHU, Leicester, Wolves, Villa, Newcastle and I'm going to include Leeds too... these are all clubs who have much higher transfer records and clubs we are competing with on a small budget for the top half... eliminating as much of these as we can whilst filling the PL up with as many yo-yo clubs is ideal. However, I think Everton will survive, all you need when you're 17th is 2 wins and you're practically out of it, they have quality players who whilst it didn't work tonight, can bring them out of it when they play those teams around them.

Man City fans have received an official email from their supporters club that this fixture will be on Sunday 20th March - 3pm kick off. Seems unusual for it not be announced by either club or the FA, and 3pm for a Sunday seems odd too. Hopefully club can announce it asap though.

Under Ralph we’ve been described as “feast or famine”, just need to hope we can feast again.

Just back from the game today - I think it can be summed up as a very day at the office. It could have been 6-1 if Villa took all their chances but it was a shame how brittle we looked. Unfortunately missing Salisu/KWP hurt but that isn’t fair on Villa who also had Konsa/Digne missing. Something just wasn’t quite right today, all very laboured. I think I could have stomached a result like today had all these players played midweek for 90 + minutes, but alas it wasn’t to be. I also think this sort of humbling was partially needed - I didn’t like Ralph saying before the game that “Gerrard has lots to learn” because on today’s showing it didn’t seem like it. No need to panic, we need to do the analysis and move on. On a final note, not that I’m complaining about the free scarf - I have to admit that it must be the thinnest material I’ve ever seen for a scarf!!!
-
Because he is a doubt - and I stated that that I assume he isn’t fit for the bench. I’m sure KWP, Ely and Salisu are fine but Ralph is being cryptic. I think Broja wasn’t meant to be fit for Spurs but still played. On current form Elyounoussi starts over Redmond for me don’t you worry.
-
Great gesture - hopefully no one steals one because I remember back in 2014 in the Swansea away game they gave free scarves and 2 or 3 people literally had to ruin it for everyone else.

Forster, Tino, Stephens, Bednarek, Perraud, JWP, Romeu, S. Armstrong, Redmond, Adams, Broja - should be a handful. We have Walcott, Djenepo, Diallo, Smallbone, Adam Armstrong as any of the 3 game changing subs to use if needed that Ralph "trusts", and I've excluded Valery there too and assumed all those in doubt aren't fit for the bench.
