I think it means that they want their 25% of him to be worth €5m, hence the €20m overall. 75% of him isn't owned by Sporting Lisbon (and we thought Liverpool owning Dejan's head was bad!)

He'd be a good signing (though I seem to remember the Feyenoord fan on here questioning his suitability for the Prem), I don't see us going for him unless we're getting rid of Cork and/or Morgan. Already got Morgan, Cork, JWP, Wanyama, Reed, Davis and Taïder, so unless 1 or 2 of them go or we send Reed out on loan on something I can't see it being a very high priority right now, probs just the link between him handing in a transfer request and the Morgan leaving speculation adding up to 5 in the minds of the press and punters...

Thanks for the info, I'm quite confident that we'll get him now. If we've offered €12m and they want €16m then one would think some sort of compromise could be reached and his agent must've indicated he'd be up for coming or else we wouldn't still be haggling over the fee

Up to her really, the club is meant to be self-sustaining as being a 'provincial' club means we can't go the other way about improving. Cortese didn't fancy this when coupled with FFP restrictions and whilst we'd probably all love the club to be spending a hundred million a window like the Big 4, if you do that when you aren't one you end up like the skates. It's a balance that needs to be accepted, I suppose...
