  1. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/southampton-will-find-out-today-if-their-bid-is-successful Quite a good article, not overly positive though. Still, we live in hope...
  2. Looks like Villa are signing Aly Cissokho, don't think he's much better than Luna and doubt he'll be cheap...
  3. And a bit shît...
  4. I think it means that they want their 25% of him to be worth €5m, hence the €20m overall. 75% of him isn't owned by Sporting Lisbon (and we thought Liverpool owning Dejan's head was bad!)
  5. He'd be a good signing (though I seem to remember the Feyenoord fan on here questioning his suitability for the Prem), I don't see us going for him unless we're getting rid of Cork and/or Morgan. Already got Morgan, Cork, JWP, Wanyama, Reed, Davis and Taïder, so unless 1 or 2 of them go or we send Reed out on loan on something I can't see it being a very high priority right now, probs just the link between him handing in a transfer request and the Morgan leaving speculation adding up to 5 in the minds of the press and punters...
  6. That's good, are you ITK on this? Would think getting him for less than we got for Lovren would be excellent business and they have said €20m max so, good news!
  7. Surely it's got to be either Vlaar or Rojo tomorrow? Forster/Van Dijk wouldn't come the day after they got knocked out surely?
  8. Translated: The Southampton Premier League club, made an offer of € 12 million by Marcos Rojo. The proposal was promptly rejected by the "lions", as the club want a more advantageous financial offer and the payment method also not pleased. The club are in Portugal to try to bring the Argentine footballer for England and offered ten million euros, which would be paid in several installments over the five-year contract that would be offered to Rojo. This initial proposal would add two million euros that would be dependent on the performance of the player and the team. The club from the south of England would be willing to make an effort to reach out to 15 million euros, however, Sporting seems to want more money for the player. Bruno de Carvalho want to fit around EUR five million by 25 percent of the pass belonging to the "green and white". The player will stay in can hamper output.
  9. My point is if he's so good, why is he always coming off the bench when he only has Danny 'Bambi-legs' Welbeck for competition. That said, I'd be thoroughly disappointed if we signed Welbeck and ecstatic if we signed Hernandez - just devil's advocate...
  10. Bloody nicely worked goal in fairness, Celtic fans leaving in droves...
  11. Whilst I'd like Hernandez I'm not sure he can really be called 'proven' when you look at how many times he's played 90 minutes for United...
  12. Forster doing well, Legia are bossing it though
  13. Good buy for them, on the plus side for us it makes Morgan going there less likely as they can't offer Chadli in the deal (for some reason I think that's what they tried before, but could be making it up)
  14. Thanks for the info, I'm quite confident that we'll get him now. If we've offered €12m and they want €16m then one would think some sort of compromise could be reached and his agent must've indicated he'd be up for coming or else we wouldn't still be haggling over the fee
  15. Interesting that there is no number 7. Marquee signing anyone?
  16. @Joe_Batchelor: Jose Fonte has told a Portuguese newspaper he is in negotiations to renew his contract at #saintsfc @Joe_Batchelor: Fonte: "There have been offers from other clubs but I feel happy at Southampton." Positive news for #saintsfc Huzzah!
  17. I'm still holding out hope fro Rojo!
  18. Younger with the potential to be. Rather we spend the money on someone we can put through the Southampton finishing school than a 29 year old, who'll only get worse...
  19. Interesting, sounds like Remy to me as we know he's a wage-chasing mercenary, otherwise he'd never have gone to QPR in the first place! FWIW I'd still love him at the club, especially for £8.5m if Bony would cost £20m...
  20. Up to her really, the club is meant to be self-sustaining as being a 'provincial' club means we can't go the other way about improving. Cortese didn't fancy this when coupled with FFP restrictions and whilst we'd probably all love the club to be spending a hundred million a window like the Big 4, if you do that when you aren't one you end up like the skates. It's a balance that needs to be accepted, I suppose...
  21. Pleat said Morgan signed from Lille...
  22. He just mentioned that we had to give Lyon some money from the Lovren transfer, anyone know if they had a sell-on clause or if it's solidarity fees?
  23. Wouldn't mind Nani, Hernandez or Kagawa. Can't believe they actually want to keep hold of Cleverley though...
