  1. Ronald has a long term vision and wants to be with us for the right reasons Not interested in short term reputation boost a la Poch
  2. "Jrod and Morgan are not for sale" guarantee from Ralph.
  3. "We had a plan" nice one Ralph...
  4. Up next on sky sports news
  5. Surprisingly positive update, based off what Guan has said I was assuming this would be them saying Jrod and Spider-Man were off and that we would be struggling. Good that it was from a "club source" that the good-ish news was coming from, maybe the next Guan update will be more promising!
  6. Hey guys, I'm now in the market for a new console, can anyone who has both tell me which one you prefer and why? Leaning towards PS4 as I've had PS1,2&3 before. Unfortunately I dropped my ps3 (original - lasted really well and no problems bar the fact I filled it up so had to delete old games when I got new ones) and broke it when I was moving this week and so thought I might as well get a new console. Fairly set on a ps4 due to exclusives (Uncharted) but open to defecting if it's worth it Thanks in advance for help/advice
  7. If he was interested in being here long term, there wouldn't be many better things for an ambitious manager than ludicrous funds and a blank slate to build your own philosophy in the best league in the world with players you can choose specifically for it from the start... *clutches desperately for straws*
  8. Depends on whether Koeman wants to bring in more midfielders as well - Clasie would be relatively cheap in both fee and wages for example, although I would still be surprised if the Fonte/Cork contracts aren't resolved long before January as it makes little sense to let serviceable players move on a Bosman
  9. My point being it can always be worse; at least we don't have to sit through West Ham's style of football, West Brom's amateur manager, Villa's awful signings, QPR's awful manager and over the hill players or Burnley's inevitable demise. Not the best situation I grant you but I reckon Koeman will be more than up for/to the challenge!
  10. Losing Morgan is obviously a huge blow but central midfield is now (thanks to Chambers' departure) the only place we still have any semblance of strength in depth with Wanyama, JWP, Cork and Reed
  11. "@DanBrett90: Koeman's agent, Guido Albers, extinguished exit talk: "Don't worry, he was aware of this from the beginning. At Feyenoord was same problem."" Hopefully that prevents one corner of the bed being soaked in urine for the time being...
  12. At least if we sell everyone there's no wage structure to break with Remy's wages! Don't panic, all will be well...
  13. Anyone seen Dalian Wanda lately?
  14. Even if this Summer all works out and Koeman brings in an all new team, what is then to stop them all leaving when he goes to a "big" club in 1-2 years time? Could be the start of a vicious and depressing cycle...
  15. So your positive thread has us needing to buy and bed in 5 first team starters in 3 weeks? Not criticising, just observing what apparently passes for positive around here...
  16. Even with the team as it is now (excluding Lovren and Chambers) we won't go down, have you seen who Villa have signed? burnley are, by and large, useless; Leicester will struggle; I've got about as much experience as West Brom's new manager; Saggychops is continuing with his policy of signing anyway who was a big name but is now way over the hill on HUGE wages; Sunderland barely stayed up and haven't really improved their team.... My point being, it's not as bad as it seems - we've got 2 replacements who are extremely capable (only on paper, I grant you) and more will surely follow. Just keep calm and in the immortal words of Corporal Jones: "Don't panic, Mr. Mainwairing"
  17. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/loic-remy-liverpool-deal-off-3921177 If Liverpool take Osvaldo off our hands it might actually make me not hate them anymore...
  18. I know it's somewhat verboten to be posting something on topic and/or non-suicidal but.... I saw today (and it might have been posted earlier) that all of Shakhtar Donetsk's South American players stayed behind after their friendly with Lyon last week and want a move. Would live Douglas Costa, Bernard, Ferreyra or Alex Teizeira (they can keep Fred though) - would all be cheap as it's not like the Ukrainian league exists anymore, wages would be high though. Would nicely reduce the problem of having to get players to gel if we just bought half of Shakhtar!! Anyway, I'm sure we'll end up with a good team, keep the faith, COYR, always look on the bright side of life etc....
  19. http://zipzip.it/?url=http://dlvr.it/6Q9QZv Article comparing Rojo and Shaw, might be of some interest. Sign him up Ron!
  20. Celtic forumeen to think he'll be off for about £8m and that our initial offer was £3.5m plus add-ons. They paid £2m for him and Newcastle have a 25% (I think) sell on fee so that offer definitely falls into the 'derisory' camp. They all seem pretty sure he's coming here though so that's good I guess...
  21. I think his name is Fraser.... Seriously it's common practice to go in low and then the bid gets negotiated up. That way you don't overpay unnecessarily and unless they have a release clause in their contract the first bid is normally going to be lower than the selling club want as the buying club are testing the water.
  22. Van Dijk has scored 2 against some Icelandic part-timers in the CL qualifiers tonight, thought it might be of interest...
  23. @FourthOfficial_: PSV Eindhoven reach agreement to sell Zakaria Bakkali with unnamed club (Eindhovens Dagblad)
  24. @alex_crook: Just had it confirmed Dejan Lovren is off to #lfc believe the fee is £16m up front rising to £20m @alex_crook: Lovren made it impossible for him to play for #saintsfc again with his 'head in #lfc' comments £20m is good return on last year's investment @alex_crook: Expecting Koeman to now make a formal offer for Ron Vlaar and increase his bid for Nathan Redmond #saintsfc @alex_crook: For those asking the indications I was given last week is that Steven Caulker isnt a #saintsfc target @alex_crook: #saintsfc have been resigned to losing Lovren since May. Just a case of squeezing out as much cash from the deal as they could The ver reliable and in the loop Alex Crook's take on things...
