Fully agree with all the above - in addition, all season ticket holders are gonna miss 4 home games next season (only 19 to go to vs 23 in League 1 and Championship)....and yet doubtless paying more.

Notwithstanding his rather uninspiring performance when he came on as a sub on Saturday (I suggest we should give him the benefit of doubt that he was following the instructions he had been given by Nigel), it was interesting to see Punch doing a celebrateory dance in the corridor on the BBC highlights and this quote on the BBC website: "I'm pleased we did this as a unit and team. I'm happy we are there now and we have done it. The chairman has done really well to turn things around and now that we are there we need to stay there." Winger Jason Puncheon I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Nigel and Punch talk about his future.......do you think we are going to see him in Saints' Premier League line-up next season? Maybe Punch's "new best friend" Mr Cortese will insist on it..!!??

Itys certainly strange that they warn you to leave a gap bewteen the two parts of your post code but don't specify how the DoB needs to be entered or whether there is a phone number format they need.......and when you end up on "The Road To Nowhere" page, how are you supposed to know if you've done the necessary? Glad you found my post interesting, Alps. With regard to our assumed enduring survival in the PL.........What about the large debt caused by us building St Mary's? I, for one, felt that was a significant millstone round our necks. It was, after all, the existance of this loan that broke the financial camel's back (although other factors clearly added to the mix). Many clubs have found the burden of funding a new stadium, as well as maintaining a stream of funds for players etc, too much to manage together. I am not sure we would have been any different in the longer term. ie I think we'd have struggled on the pitch at some stage....and we all know what happens to PL clubs that struggle on the pitch.

Maybe Alps should see, from this thread, that he may be the only one harbouring an enduring problem. Its almost as though he is saying Saints would definitely have stayed in the Prem for the last 6 years. if it wasn't for certain people or events. Nothing is remotely that certain. The last few seasons have been ups and downs (albeit it pretty much the other way round) - every club outside the "big few" will have those. Look at Birmingham, Leeds, West Ham, Middlesborough etc. We need to look forward, not back, and exchange endemic pessimism for optimism. I suggest most of us have already done this. Try this for size: "stress fills the gap between expectation and reality". If a supporter cannot achieve their own version of closure and move on (which is a form of expectation adjustment), then they'll continue to experience some sort of stress (for which read disappointment or other negative feelings) until.......when? We are European Champions? Should it be taken that those of us that have come to terms with the events of the last 6 years, and have moved on, are in a "better place"?

I am happy to add my name to those above - give credit where it's due, respect someone who has had to accept their mistakes and eat humble pie. I suspect all of us have been in this situation once in our lives - but without the publicity Punch has had to live under. From what I can see, Saints fans are united in our willingness to draw a (famous) Adkins blue line under events of the past and move on. Pats on the backs all round, I say. Now......over to you, Punch......show what skills and tricks you have learned from your spells on loan and make a contribution to our promotion push. That is the one, and only, priority now.

Look again at the video in the link...... all the players numbers (yes, both teams!!) and the advertising hoardings are shown in mirror writing (seriously!!!). So, somehow the video appears to be a mirror image (and I've no idea how this might happen - does anyone else?) which mmeans that the cross was from the LEFT and Lee scored on his LEFT foot. Strange ay?

Lots of us have commented about Guly's "intermittent" form - especially away from home. I certainly felt that he did not look like he was pulling his weight yesterday, too many passes went atray etc. But that touch he provided, to put Stve DR through from the throw-in, was sublime. Gotta give credit where it's due.

They will not be offered that new or extended contract; simples. (does not apply retrospectively to players already on contract)
