Not as downbeat as some on here. I thought we put in a more than reasonable performance considering being the first game of the season against a fancied side. Time and time again I have seen many sides struggle against ten men so I will not gripe about that. Hopefully get a decent keeper in and a bit of time for the new faces to establish themselves and we might surprise a few sides. Only gripe is, why the hell was Yuki taken off, he was having a good game and getting some decent crosses in.

Very rarely get excited about transfers now due to our restricted budget. The ultimate was Kevin Keegan. I suppose Gaston Ramirez got a little bit of juice flowing as he was a Uruguayan international with lots of hype about him but he was another amongst many that failed to deliver.

Well, many of these goals in the link would not be gifted in the prem, but he can head a ball thats for sure, plus he does display a couple of bits of skill for a tall lad. Maybe worth another chance and perhaps a bit of a longer run than he was allowed last time.

I take your point but it just smacks of England v Iceland before the Euros and Southgate played a second string side and then England looked a shambles come the important games despite the players knowing the system.

We really haven't done well with signings from South America in the past. We haven't done much better with signings from Europe in the past apart from the odd one or two.

Yep, we seem to have a mental block regarding keepers. I didn’t need to see the game tonight to work out that McCarthy is not fit for purpose. I can only hope that saints aren’t burying their heads in the sand regarding a keeper and will bring in someone of quality.

If fitness was the issue against Oxford god help us in the premiership.

Didn’t see the game but sounds like a big wake up call. Also no surprise that McCarthy is still a massive liability. Without a decent goalkeeper in the Premiership we will be easy pickings.
