Any chance of seeing highlights of saints endlessly passing the ball about and then losing possession.

We really haven't done well with signings from South America in the past. We haven't done much better with signings from Europe in the past apart from the odd one or two.

Yep, we seem to have a mental block regarding keepers. I didn’t need to see the game tonight to work out that McCarthy is not fit for purpose. I can only hope that saints aren’t burying their heads in the sand regarding a keeper and will bring in someone of quality.

If fitness was the issue against Oxford god help us in the premiership.

Didn’t see the game but sounds like a big wake up call. Also no surprise that McCarthy is still a massive liability. Without a decent goalkeeper in the Premiership we will be easy pickings.

If he does get game time I'll constantly be worried about him on the end of a heavy tackle. Once injury prone always injury prone.

Agreed. I suspect that his dismal performance for Scotland in the Euro’s has dampened interest. I’m surprised that saints are still open to him renewing his contract when he is a mediocre forward at best and obviously doesn’t want to be here.

All this talk I am hearing of how we should hold our heads up high and feel proud of our achievement. Balls to that, the only thing I will hold up high is two fingers. We had a lucky draw to the final and even then we struggled along with a big does of luck. There is only one reason why a good team on paper came no where close to expectations and that is Southgate. It started going wrong even before a ball was kicked by leaving out Grealish, and that was the big clue on how he was going to set his squad up. The flair players like Palmer and Watkins done their best in the little time they had and showed what impact those type of players have but it was too little too late. Please go Southgate, please FA get in someone who wants to win games by attacking. Clop would be my choice but never in million years would he take on the poison chalice.
