Low taxes & high interest rates will bring investment cash into the uk in the medium term. A weak pound will make those trying to sell uk based services more competitive. Don’t get me wrong, all of the above will no doubt be disastrous for the majority of workers over the short to medium term, but he’s certainly made a play; the objective being to put us in a advantageous position in the 3-5 yr horizon. Banking on a shallow recession I assume. Horrible short term prospects generally, although I see a lot of happy contractors celebrating the demise of IR35.

The very fact that a mass exodus is in process refutes your argument. I work with many Russians who have luckily escaped to Turkey. These are gifted individuals who could easily have been thrown into the meat grinder. Conscription is disgraceful. Nationalism only has value if people WANT to buy into it. As soon as you force involvement, you move beyond democracy.

My Russian colleagues have confirmed they are moving today, along with the majority of the Russian male population it would seem. This can't go on much longer, the country is emptying. I just don't see what structure exists to take power from the tyrant. The military is the only option it seems, but they haven't shown any interest. I hope they don't close the borders, but if they do, we may see a popular uprising sooner thank expected.

Ivan is still fighting heroically at the front line. No, you can’t speak to him.
-
They are cremating fallen fighters right at the front line using mobile furnaces. No troublesome footage of coffins to worry the domestic audience. I know some Russian guys, I hope they are safe from the conscription.

Is Pokemon Go not the in thing any more? Shame It was more of a 'what if' than a 'this has happened', but I guess you knew that already.

Lol, used car dealers The era of male football having a monopoly (and charging prices to match) may be drawing to a close. We have all be calling for it, every year it gets more expensive, less fan-focused, more corporate. We all expected the bubble to burst eventually, but not like this. Could the success of the Women's game become the great leveller which finally resets the game in the UK? Don't count on it, but I'd appreciate the irony.

Great goal, deserved win.

Is Jill Scott the slowest footballer ever?

This Betty Ball isn’t bad. Interesting to see not a single black player on the pitch, wonder why that is?

Not sure why the “He” is emphasised? It’s his preferred pronoun. I checked first 👍 🏳️🌈

Tbh there are around 3 threads this little Beaty could have found a home in. 🏳️🌈 “On Monday, Cardiff Magistrates' Court heard how witnesses said Wallis left the scene after crashing his Mercedes into a lamppost on 28 November. He was wearing a black leather mini-skirt and high heels and told the court he feared he was going to be attacked.” https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-62118964

From what I would otherwise consider two vacuous pop-stars, actually a very powerful performance, all things considered.

If its not affordable, or if you just don't want to use your time/money to celebrate someone else's life event, that's a perfectly reasonable choice. I had a friend who I had not spoken to for a couple of years contact me to see if I wanted to come to his birthday, they had rented a large property in Cornwall for the weekend, and sadly someone had dropped out, so 'it would be great to see you', and it would 'only cost you £500'. I politely declined.

Its a moronic soundbite, equivalent to the 'Big Society' or 'Silent Bat People'. The only place you level-up is in a computer game. Ken the Tesco shelf-stacker gets qualified, or gets an increase in his hourly pay, or has a better work/life balance. He doesn't get more XP. -
I don’t know what that means, but it’s impressive that you & LDH have the same avatar. Was that planned, or is it a coincidence?

Some people vote because they want to make society better, even if it means they may pay a bit more tax. -
More losses still to come I think. I’m planning to stay out of markets generally until q1 ‘23. Made a decent return shorting MicroStratagy though. Think they may be going down the pan.

Can’t imagine how anyone could still have an ounce of respect for this leader. It would be good to see someone offer some justification, but instead we get hollow retorts like ‘angry old man’. it’s a trollish diversion and a waste of everybody’s time. Debate - don’t ‘name call’. -
Not new kit info, but I just got my son the current away top for £13 from the official store. Bargain, plus I like the yellow
