Maybe there's a bit of denial on my part, but it was clear from the start of the interview that Clasie's English is not too good. It's possible that he thought 'couple' to mean a nonspecific number of years. It would be a bit weird for him to outright suggest he was here for the season and one more, then he's off.

At the risk of sounding like a bed wetter, I have spoken to a fair few Portuguese/Sporting fans about Cedric and they have all suggested that he is mediocre. The worst claim was that he was mid-table championship quality. The best that he would do the job passably, just not to the same standard as Clyne.
