Some will recall a tweet/instagram post from 'Equinox' barbers to Lovren days after the season ended saying their farewells to him and that he would be missed. People quickly jumped on it and the barbers backpedaled by saying he will be missed while he's at the World Cup. In short, he chose to move before the exodus even happened which contradicts his statement that he'd be glad to stay at Southampton had they not started selling. Funny that he would complain about ambition, yet join a team which had just sold one of the best strikers in the world. Is it just me, or can anyone else see Lallana somewhere like Newcastle season after next? Either reunited with Pardew, or off to promoted Norwich to try and recreate that feeling of being loved/relevant at a small family club. 8 minutes later... Ok, I visualised Lallana signing for Norwich in my head but it wasn't enough. Into microsoft paint I went to try and capture the moment. Nobody can tell me they can't see this kind of step happening within a couple of years....

Guan, there's a site called footballorgin.com which uploads every premier league match, as well as cup games featuring PL sides. It's not up yet, but should be in a couple of hours. If not, definitely tomorrow.

I can see Toby being much harder to secure permanently. His prospects at Atletico are much brighter than Bertrand's are at Chelsea. Wouldn't begrudge him not wanting to sign permanently I guess.
-
I think there was a video up of him on the official youtube no more than 2 weeks ago.

The amount of people saying Targett on for Bertrand, but not Alderweireld for Clyne is making me suspect that some have forgotten Toby is an RB.

Cup win any day. The preference for 3 points is short sighted and realistically inconsequential. I'm sure enough people were willing to completely scrap a cup run last season when we were flying. In hindsight, wouldn't an FA or LC under the belt and an 8th-12th place finish have been sweeter than 8th and nothing?

I don't know. If so, the club must feel like a right cuckold though, paying for his liposuction, implants and plastic surgery all in the knowledge that when it's done, he's going to bugger off to be with a richer, more successful man. That said, maybe other clubs will be wary of buying a poisoned chalice in the form of a member of Southampton's class of 2013-14. Secondly, even when he is back to full fitness he is going to face much more competition than last year for a place in the starting line-up. If he isn't even guaranteed a spot at little old Saints, will a bigger club be any more inviting?

https://vine.co/v/OhWpxI0tlOx I'm sure all of you will love this clip of Lovren from earlier

How has Liverpool cemented a reputation as being one of these mystical grounds in world football? You'll hear more noise at a conference game.

I find it remarkable that not one of the defectors has flourished since mixing it in with the 'elite' of the game, nor increased their price tags. Their prospects admittedly are greater as far as international football goes, but there is no merit in this as we all know.

Flying in from Holland
Coldridge replied to pappalotti's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
Unless another Dutchman and his daughter with a giant 'Pelle' Italian flag also went to the game, I figure this is Pappalotti at 13.46! -
Saints 8 (Eight) Sunderland 0 - Match and Reactions
Coldridge replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
I can't see any reason why we won't be above Liverpool by January. Anyone can see that they're not the same team without Suarez, and are probably as attractive a prospect for furthering a career as any other midtable team. -

1 or 3 points against Man U will do nicely. The only thing I hope of City and Chelsea is that we do not lose by any more than 2 goals! -
Well, he should have another song. Davis is a good protestant, so maybe something to the tune of 'The Sash My Father Wore'; 'The Stripes Steve Davis Wore'?

Saints duo win awards - Koeman MOTM - Pellè POTM
Coldridge replied to angelman's topic in The Saints
Pelle to headbutt Fonte in January and get a move to Inter on loan, pairing up with Osvaldo to make a deadly strike force akin to Liverpool's SAS of last season, the 'OAP'. -

James Beattie, 2002. Seriously... -
He plays for Arsenal, and Arsenal are better than Southampton, therefore Chambers > Clyne. I sometimes think that this really is the logic behind the selection process.

Peach: 'I imagine it is because those in charge would have hurt like any fan would. Lambert perceived as getting fairytale move.' Hmm......

http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/national/11519847.Lallana_clarifies_Southampton_exit/ Peach decided to omit this bit “He just needs to keep playing, keep enjoying it, keep doing well. That will leave him with options.”, even went so far as to say "Lallana was one of a host of players to depart St Mary's in the summer, but rejected talk that Nathaniel Clyne's call-up could see him follow suit.".

The lad is soft in the head. One minute he's praising the club, but immediately after is belittling of it.

Agree with this entirely. We are surpassing all expectations so far this season and should be cheerful and nothing else, but the way many fans are conducting themselves would make you think we are rotting down in 20th place. Maybe this would justify the vitriol a little more, but it is stupid to mar the positivity in the camp by booing former staff whose departures ended up making us stronger.

Jack Colback is a secret footballer (just not the main one). He did an anonymous 'ask me anything' a year ago on the /sp/ board on 4chan of all places, but the anoraks eventually figured out it was him. Made an amusing comment about Pardew which is even more funny now that he plays under him.

ABBA anyone? Mane, Mane Mane, he's so runny, in Ron Koeman's Saints? No, how about 'Money' by Pink Floyd? Mane, get back Stay onside and wait for the counter attack. Ron Vlaar, Graham Carr, going down the pub, think I'll support Saints football club.
-
I ignore my own opinions on the MOTD running order simply because I am aware 90% of football fans also feel hard done by and think the pundits should be as enamored with the club as they are themselves.

Big grin on his face at around 2.02.40. There's the video if you need proof http://www.footballorgin.com/2014/09/premier-league-2014-2015-southampton-v_27.html After a couple of those offsides in quick succession yesterday, I started thinking about Pa**** Cisse who seems to be prolific in that department. Maybe they don't have the offside rule in Senegal?
