  1. I rather think we will be continuing to import oranges, lemons, pineapples and olives, numbnuts....just not wheat from the Ukraine and Poland.
  2. The answer is obvious to me. Rather than importing food, we should be producing more ourselves, using technology that improves crop yields and efficiency of production. Jeez...
  3. There are none that are as blind, as those that won't see...
  4. Please contemplate my arguments against your delusions, Chuck by reading this. "Obvious truth..."
  5. Stick this in your pipe and smoke it, Chuck:
  6. Why support sugar beet farmers by price support? Just grow another crop that is more profitable. Release farmers from being handout to opportunity seekers.
  7. Everything to do with inflation. Increased productivity in the food and energy sectors by the introduction of the new technology the EU is blocking, specifically GM and fracking, will lower prices. I'll look for a simple diagram online to help you.
  8. Most of the food we import is from countries that can produce more efficiently than the UK, particularly in regions where, for instance, GM crops are approved or countries that produce cheaper than us, for instance in France, where the massive EU farm subsidies reward the inefficient. Food production in the EU is dictated by policies designed to protect local farmers and regulations that work against innovation. You only have to look at the benefits that GM technology has brought to Argentina, over a 15 year period. GM technology is used in nearly all soybean crops, in 86% of maize crops, and 99% of cotton crops. This process has implied cumulative gross earnings for Argentina amounting to US$ 72,645.52 million. 15 years on we still haven't adopted GM technology, despite the UK pioneering it. Why? The f***ing socialist, dogmatic and non-scientific politicians in countries like Sweden and Finland who vote based on warped beliefs not data. Now we're free, welcome to fracking and GM technology and see the cheaper food and energy happen.
  9. So, pal, you think it is a benefit to have the regional parliament of Wallonia in a position to veto a trade deal that the other member states want. You probably think the Soviet Union was a good idea. Look how that turned out, pal...
  10. I'm all for a "Hard Brexit" which is inevitable, given the text in bold. Who thinks we would have been better off having the EU negotiating our trade deals is mental....
  11. So much for the EU/Canadian trade deal, reported in this mornings Times here.
  12. Like I said, you are a total w@nker. It's racist hatred, not "Brexiter violence" and down to more people reporting instances. To quote your original Guardian article: To repeat, you are a total w@nker to suggest that those that voted out are responsible for an increase in hate crimes.
  13. Brexiter violence??? You are a total w@nker for linking hate crimes/violence to people that voted to leave the EU. The Home Office stated in a press briefing, that "the increase was largely a result of more people reporting hate crime and better police recording. " Like I said, a total w@nker....
  14. Don't spread hate. This march is to celebrate the birth of their prophet. Muslims in Leicester celebrate it every year and good luck to them....
  15. Going back to the original post: Full story here.
  16. It's quite apparent that the only thing holding you back from getting a decent job anywhere in the world, is your attitude and education (as demonstrated by your spelling and grammar). Try working harder at school, college, university, night school (delete where appropriate) and stop blaming other people for your situation. It is not the voters, the government or the other posters on this site, that makes it hard for you and other young people to get a job in the world. It is the lack of marketable skills or talents and a bad attitude. When you realise that, you may start being more successful in life and stop boring everyone on here, on who's to blame for you being a loser. Oh, and if you think the EU is a better place to get a job than the UK, talk to anyone under the age of 30 in Spain, Italy, Greece or Portugal. The above post is known as tough love.
  17. It was a real shame that "some people" do not possess the "intellegence" you do. If they did, I am sure the country would have voted "immediatley" to remain.
  18. Or, as I posted earlier on this thread:
  19. Jeremy Corbyn is a wealthy communist. The worst kind....
  20. Matt Ridley in the Times. Spot on as usual:
  21. I saw that as well:
  22. Meanwhile, in the real world, the FTSE forges ahead:
  23. And if you want to know what will start the euro death spiral, read this.
  24. I don't think ad hominem arguments ever progress a discussion. It is all about the hard economic data and as usual, that is just akin to staring in a rear view mirror. There ARE indicators that the EU is mired in a swamp, from a growth, debt, migration control and trade agreement point of view. What is unarguable is that we are going to be out of the EU and everyone has to like it or lump it. Those patriotic souls amongst us, will do what we can to make a success of the reality we are now in. "Don't ask what this country can do for you, ask what you can do for this country." Hopefully the cry babies amongst the Remainers will be able to get out of our way, while we build a new UK.
