What has that got to do with it? You are not exactly on safe ground given Trump’s alleged sexual indiscretions. I know we have different political opinions, but when you defend Trump you really make yourself look foolish. There should have been a proper trial and if Donald was as innocent as he says he is, he could have cleared his name and taken the moral high ground. Even though he has not been found innocent and has been cleared thanks to the votes of his own partisan party, he still has the brass neck to pretend that he has been found innocent.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

More than “lots” don’t kill their children thank goodness! Re your point about blood transfusions. I used to know a family of ex Jehovah’s Witnesses. Very nice people but they were adamant that they would refuse a blood transfusion even if it were a matter of life or death. Madness. -
My wife’s first mother in law left her husband for another woman when she was in her 60’s. They were a travelling family and he is a proper “bloke.” He took it well though, considering it must be awful enough to lose your wife to another man yet alone a woman. Still, apparently he is with another woman now and doing well. My wife keeps in touch with her ex mother in law and she is still happy with her partner. All’s well that ends well I guess.

Maybe I have been unkind to him. If celebs coming out make it easier for others to accept their own sexuality then that’s a good thing. Looking forward to the day when people can be comfortable with their own sexuality without worrying how society will judge them.
-
As alluded to by Whelk, I don’t think it came as a major shock to the general public. I don’t understand why someone would feel the need to use their media platform to announce it to the world. The only people he needed to confide in are those close to him. If I was cynical I would think that he has done this now to deflect from the amount of negative press he has been getting recently over being an ar5e to work with. It’s a shame that we still haven’t moved on enough for him to feel that he has to make a public announcement about his sexuality. Or perhaps this says more about him and his ego than it does about society? We need to get a few gay footballers to come out and perhaps that will be the end of the issues and we can all go back to worrying about life after Brexit.
-
Don’t you think that they knew long before he announced it to the nation? Do you think that it is worthy of a TV announcement? It is a matter for him and his family and friends. Is it really a matter of national interest?
-
Celebrities making a big deal about coming out as gay. Nowadays who cares what Philip Schofield’s sexuality is? I don’t care what he has for breakfast. I don’t care if he fancies blokes. Just get on with your life and be true to your feelings. It is no big deal anymore unless you choose to make it a big deal.

Isn’t it better that they discuss business later rather than sooner? We want him 100% focussed on his game, not business matters. He isn’t going to decide to leave just because we haven’t discussed a new contract now. If he wants out he or we can’t do anything about it until close season anyway.
-
“Probably.” Why? Can you give other examples where they have sold players and divided up the money between them?
-
It is a massive generalisation and it is also not generally true. If people were getting “vast sums of money” perhaps it would solve many problems. The main issue is that once you have gone through a very convoluted process, you have to wait for 5 weeks before you get anything (if you get anything). In that time many people end up running up big debts which they have to pay off, leaving them short. Even when they get their payment many people still don’t have enough to live on, and not everybody goes off and buys expensive phones. If the system was ok there wouldn’t be such a fuss made over it since it’s launch. It is not ok. It does not work as it should. People who work there say that. Listen to the people who know and not the Daily Mail.
-
Spoken like a true Tory. The vast majority of people needing help are deserving cases. There will always be those who have caused there own problems but by focussing on them you are ignoring the real problem. How would you feel if you couldn’t feed your daughter and had to rely on foodbanks? You have never been through the process so if someone who has tells you that it is not fit for purpose, perhaps try and see it from their prospective rather than just pick holes just because some people have not managed themselves well.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

Not once have I said that if we stopped interfering over there then it would stop, but it would be a start. The West have caused far too much negativity for it to stop overnight. Go and read up on anytime in history when more powerful nations impose themselves on weaker ones. There is always a reaction and often it is violent. You try and water this down by saying it is something that only I subscribe to. Many experts on Middle Eastern affairs will tell you the same. It seems that you just want to lay it at the door of everyone who believes in Islam. -

As ever you try to turn a complex matter into a simplistic one. You don’t seem to understand the concept of cause and effect. Islam Isn’t the problem in itself. The problem comes from an element who interpret the teaching differently. If the West hadn’t caused a reaction to its intervention in the Middle East, why haven’t we had these attacks on our streets prior to the late 90’s? Surely if Muslims were so intent on bringing the infidels down this would have been going on on our streets for centuries? Blaming a religion is lazy and typical of those of a right wing persuasion. Islam is no more crazy than Christianity which is not surprising given that they have the same roots. Fortunately for us, the vast majority of its followers are just as peaceful as you and I. You are quite nationalistic yourself. How would you feel if far more powerful nations were coming over here and getting involved in our lives? Given that you wanted out of the EU I am guessing you would be extremely radical in your response. -
I don’t think we would have gone on and won. They were carving us open at will after we scored and we seem to have run out of steam. There was only one team going to win this game in the last 15 minutes and it wasn’t us.

So much for the American justice system where political expediency means more. The land of the free and the untouchable. The Republicans should be ashamed of themselves but they won’t give a stuff. Nasty party supporting a nastier president.
-
Maybe he did go to a library but they didn’t show how he dealt with that problem. Not everybody is computer literate. I am glad that you know people who are happy with the system. There seem to be a great many who are not.

Only watched the second half. The Ings goal was the best birthday present ever. We seemed to fold after that. Gutted.

The BBC have just started a series on Universal Credit which is worth a look. Strange that they featured a homeless guy last night who was going through the process but it didn’t show how he managed to claim without having obvious access to a PC. Another minor moan. These are public buildings, often you have to wait there for long periods of time. There are toilets for the staff but none for public use. Not great if you are desperate whilst waiting to see someone. What you also didn’t see last night was the security men walking the floors. Perhaps they wanted people to think the offices are all warm and friendly.

Deal with the root causes and perhaps stop dropping bombs in the Middle East? These attacks only started when we ramped up military intervention. Islam has been around for thousands of years, Islamic fuelled terrorism on our streets is a relatively recent thing. -

Funny that Batman doesn’t get all worked up about certain members of the press being excluded from a Government briefing, especially given that he is so for democracy and all that. -

The bottom line is, no matter what you think of Muslims or foreigners, we all have to share the planet and find a way of living together. This constant round of blood letting on the streets is not going to end until we take some responsibility too. Just saying it is a Muslim problem and they need to sort it out isn’t going to work. We have a new PM who says he is going to energise Britain. Perhaps he can start by finding a way of engaging with radical elements who want to kill us that doesn’t involve just shooting them dead or locking them up. The current plan is to lock them up for longer. All that does is delay the inevitable. Perhaps the government needs to do more in understanding why this is happening on our streets and what they can do to prevent it in the first place. Things don’t happen in a vacuum. -

How do you know this? Because you read it in the papers? Makes you an expert on their family situation. When you say he wasn’t stopped from doing it, don’t you think that being arrested for terrorist activities stopped him from doing it? Do you know what part his parents/family played in the arrest? -

Are you saying that Muslims mothers don’t feel the loss of there sons the same way any other mother would? According to the reports she was “devastated.” You sound more like Batman everyday. -

So that is worse than condemning them without knowing anything about them. Our prisons are full of murders, rapists, theives. Should we bang up their parents too for letting their children get that way? If his family have connections to ISIS or encouraged him anyway I am sure that will be dealt with. So far that doesn’t seem to be the case. -

How would you feel if that was your son? They will have to live with the shame. The only upside is that he didn’t manage to kill anyone.
