Jesus Alpine, you really do take the biscuit. Unless the club sign six players on the opening day of every transfer window its hard to see how they can keep you happy. As for Stekelenberg, I suspect that Ronald Koeman thinks he is an adequate stand in but whether he reaches your standards remains to be seen.

Don't you think the club is "going for it" then? Given that we cant compete with the likes of Manure. Chelsea and City, what sort of players should we be looking to bring in? The likes of Rojo and Clasie have either been signed or linked with top four clubs so it doesn't look to me like we are scrabbling about for crumbs. We are never going to sign Ronaldo but that doesn't mean we cant be competitive. We were last year and I am sure we will be this year. If it is big time stuff you want perhaps you are supporting the wrong club?

The security guy at the French end of the tunnel was saying that he doesn't have enough man power to deal with the situation. Ok, get more! Perhaps the French should deploy some troops? You can bet your life they would if the problem was the other way around and hundreds of immigrants were coming through the tunnel their end.

Book: The Trial by Kafka. Loved the dark paranoia. Film: Seen it so many times but never get tired of it - Zulu. There is something very stirring about a group of men facing ridiculous odds and coming through and more stiff upper lips than you'd find at a Viagra tasting event. So you are happy with him slagging off the Board (mostly with no foundation) but aren't happy when people call him on that? There is a reason why Alpine creates so much grief and you only have to read this thread to know why that is.

Alpine is not a shrinking violet and is more than capable of fighting his own corner. Of course he is entitled to his opinion but I think you will find that it is the way he puts his (usually very negative and ill-informed) opinion across that winds people up. And what about Alpine's attacks on the club's management? I am sure we are all concerned about getting a replacement for Toby but you need to remember that we didn't sign Toby until well into August last year and just because we haven't signed someone yet, it doesn't mean it will not happen. There is still plenty of time. The time to start worrying is the morning after the window shuts if we haven't signed a replacement.

Which probably means that he is trying to push up the price. Isnt Virgil quoted as saying he wants to leave this summer?

It is relevant on the basis that you concluded that the club had f*cked up because he was signing for someone else when it seems that we weren't even after him.

This is the thing though Alpine. How do you know we "don't seem to be on the pulse of CB activity"? Just because the media seem to be printing a lot of ill informed bullsh*t doesn't mean to say that things aren't going on behind the scenes. Patience.
