Parents 'responsible for children's bad behaviour'
sadoldgit replied to Thorpe-le-Saint's topic in The Lounge
My partners son recently split up with his girlfriend. She was 15 when they met. She uses language like a trooper on Facebook. Sleeps around and brags about it on Facebook. Has caused £650 of damaged by smashing a plate glass window of a shop she worked in but was sacked from and talked about it on Facebook. She does drugs and is you basixc nightmare. Her parents are on Facebook as her friends so read all of this and yet do nothing about her behaviour. Teachers can only do so much but parents need to be responsible for their own childen's behaviour. When I was at school the teachers used to carry canes and could dish out punishment on the spot. I was terrfified of thm. Now kids have no respect for teachers (or parents) and this has to change. -
Didn't we have that last season too? Perhaps not to the same extent but Pardew said his job was to turn the losing mentality around and he went a long way towards that by winning a trophy.
-
Well done to Adkins but we expected to be challenging for promotion this season didn't we? We started with minus 10 last year were not far off the play offs at the end and won a cup. Adkins has bulit on what Pardew acheived in one season but he hasn't finished the job yet and there is still next season to come. I am not convinced by the players he has brought in and, given that we will go up this season, next season will be a true measure of the man. But for now he is doing what we pay him to do and I hope he manages to pull off 2nd spot.

THis business about the ball boys really hacks me off. Have them or don't have them but don't mess about during the game. Its about time there was a ruling as it affects the game so much. They don't change the offside rule during the game or the size of the ball - so why allow people to include or withdraw ball boys???

An ex girlfriend of mine did his first heart op. Good luck to him.
-
Good luck to Brighton. They have had a storming season and done better than us. I also hope we beat then today and go on to secure 2nd place. Everything else is just nonsense.
-
But then sacking Pardew was hardly the smartest move at the time was it?
-
QUestionable that he was the best, no better tha Roy Keane to me but yes, I think most people would have liked him in their side. Just a nasty piece of work though and that should be recognised and not glossed over.

If Ronney had lunged at a player like that yesterday he would have been crucified. Scholes does it and the 'tators tell us to forget because of his "brilliant" career. Yep, the bloke can play, but he has also been sent off 10 times in said "brilliant" career. In my book that says he is a clogger who can play. The look on his face when he got the red card said it all. It was if he couldn't believe it. Glad to see that Fergie paid the price for his players lack of discipline. Scholes, off, Rooney suspended and MoanU out of the cup. Happy days. Also how come 5 minutes extra time became 5 mins 30 secs? Fergie time again.

We won without playing well and are still in an automatic promotion spot yet still there is bickering on here? Let's save it for when we lose eh? 3 points is 3 points and we need every last one if we are to avoid the play offs. -
All we need to focus on is getting as many points as possible.
-
We didn't get much press even when we finished runners up to Liverpool in the old Div 1 days. We have never been a "big club" hence have never really been on the media's radar. They couldn't avoid us in 1976 though
-
If that is the family stand can you imagine what the other stand looks like? Looks like a recruiting ground for the BNP.
-
Well the automatic promotion spot has been a long time coming, but in reality we only need to be there once and that is after the fianl day of the season. Well done to everyone at the club and its great to see us picking up wins without playing brilliantly (all good clubs can do this). Looking forward to the run in. Happy days.

Large stripes, small stripes..stripes are still stripes. This is the only season since I have supported Saints that we have not had stripes.
-
Really? They might change styles slightly but most clubs stick with their basics.
-
Only because we lost the toss. Is there one person on here who was at Wembley in 1976 who didn't wish we carried the cup around Wembley dressed in red and white stripes?

Why did Bradley Wright Phillips get a standing ovation FFS?

How many goals has he scored Alpine? I think perhaps some of the credit should go to the players and the coaching team. Oh and Pardew for bringing in so many decent players. -
The subs celebrating? Anything to do with Delldays?
-
As I started supporting them in 1966 it is all I have ever known (apart from this year). So in answer to your question, Saints are not the Saints without red and white stripes and black shorts (to me).
-
Because it just ain't Sants without the stripes and black shorts Alps. And the sash is pants. And there is nothing "lucky" about the kit. The results are down to the players and management, not the shirts.

Diego Maradona. World class player. 3rd class human being.

Having dumbed down Britain as far as it could go I suppose they consider it job done?
-
Or he could be thinking thank f * c k I don't have to worry about the manager jumping my wife anymore?
