Although there has been a lot of exaggerated stuff written on here, and even some comments bordering on the ignorant or inappropriate, I don't think it's wrong to say that the better grasp of language you have, all other things being equal, the better your message gets across. Of course, Pep Guardiola has a good grasp of the English language and no doubt delivers his instructions with more vigour and infectiousness than say, Bryan Robson. Pellegrino's problem was not that he couldn't find the right words, more that he oozed hesitancy and insecurity. Puel struggled with the language but also had a dull manner. Pochettino was boring in interviews but you could tell that the players warmed to him, regardless of his struggles with English. But anyone who has had to listen to a talk or speech by someone with a heavy accent will know that it takes a lot more to be engaged than it does by someone with perfect diction. I would not want that to be the case, but it is nevertheless something I have found. It doesn't mean that a non-native speaker is necessarily worse of course, it just means they have to make up for it in other areas, as no doubt the likes of Mourinho, Klopp, Pochettino, Wenger, Guardiola manage to do. Having said that, I could listen to Sean Dyche talk all day

I haven't really noticed much of Bednarek in the last couple of games and I think that shows he is doing a decent job. Compare that to Hoedt, who seems to do quite a few noticeably good things, but also has the odd heart-stopping or obviously poor moment.

Yep, you just know they will be viewing it from the point of view of asset value, rather than considering any effect it might have on the squad.
-
Right you are. I just recall United not having anything to play for, but probably because Chelsea wrapped up the league way before.
-
Who had already won the league (I think?), they weren’t exactly up for it, we had a chance but ultimately they were just better than us. Can see a similar thing happening with City.
-
The chances of us losing that game by being more open were higher than us winning it. Of course we should have gone into the game with the mentality of trying to win not draw, but with 15 minutes left it only looked like one team was going to win the game, and it wasn't us.

Thanks to everyone who visited the site, got a fair few hits from SWF - hopefully some repeat listeners! Appreciate all the comments.

Haha, quite. Regardless of the people recording these videos, who actually watches them?!
-
Haha, yep! Glad I'm not the only one...

It's just bizarre that he keeps getting picked on the left, where his whole game is about getting the ball onto his right foot. He invariably plays badly there, but when he plays on the right on centrally (e.g. at Wembley last week) he plays a lot better, and then ends up on the left again! I know that Tadic was excellent today and one of his goals came from him drifting in from the right, but most of the time the same is true for him - a lot of his best performances have come from him playing LW. Yet every manager insists on the same tactics. I wonder what they see that I (and most others) don't, or perhaps the players wrongly believe themselves to be better on the 'opposite' flanks...

Sometimes I've been at a match and I've felt my phone buzz. My first reaction is thinking someone has more up to date info on the Saints game I AM WATCHING LIVE.

I think his "attitude" appeared questionable when he didn't bother coming back on the pitch during an attack, and then ambled back towards the halfway line while Chelsea nearly scored. I was certainly annoyed about that, and he has been found wanting in a few other games recently too (although I also think some of his mistakes leading to opposition goals have not been totally his fault). But, given Hughes clearly isn't standing for anyone not pulling their weight, and has maybe already had an issue with Lemina once since his arrival (not sure if that was confirmed), the fact he was picked at Wembley and again today suggests to me that maybe his attitude has been decent, and that incident at Wembley might have been due to feeling an injury or something... No doubt of his ability though, was so glad it was him and Tadic on that break - probably the only two players I'd trust to make such an important pass successfully!

We have the best midfield in the Premier League, so it will DEFINITELY be the best in the Championship
-
Can almost - almost - forgive Cedric for never ever putting in a decent cross due to his effort at the end. A few 'smart' fouls from our team at the end befitting a Mark Hughes team. Lemina had a great first half, bizarre how he can swing from one extreme to the next, maybe he just needs good man management. Tadic my outfield man of the match, irrespective of his goals. Felt he played a bit like a captain second half today. Always calm on the ball, was the hub of anything good we did going forward. But there were a few saves today which put McCarthy in the frame for MoM and strengthen his claim for player of the season!
-
That’s an understatement. Understandable to take him off if he was knackered, but he was the only one putting his foot on the ball and turning defence into attack.
-
Same, a bit worried about changing shape. That being said we have been looking a little light in CM so guess that’s the thinking.
-
Bertrand could do better, but great ball from a Tadic. If Bournemouth have as many chances I’m pretty sure they’ll take one of them.
-
Behave. Jos Hooiveld made Jos Hooiveld look like Franco Baresi and I'll hear no more about it.
-
This is the most winnable game we have, and a win might just give us some belief/momentum to take into the potentially crunch match with Swansea. If we don't win today then I don't see why we'd expect to win away at Swansea and Everton. I wonder when the mentality of "there's still time" will finally expire?
-
Oh. Ffs
-
Big save. Shocking defending by Yoshida & Hoedt...
-
Maybe that’s a good thing, he’d probably have got in the way. Or Tadic would’ve tried to pass it.
-
Jeez, good moments have been so rare this season, try not to find the negatives when they finally come along.
-
As much as Lemina has been a **** lately, thank god it was two technically good players on that break. Although not sure Tadic stayed onside...
-
Perhaps we should put them on the same wing, have two capable players to mount an attack, and accept the right wing is a lost cause!
