  1. We could stick a cheeky sell on clause in there. Win win.
  2. Looks like it's gonna be Chelsea signing Lavia then..unless Brighton are interested now?
  3. To be honest last season we had the same problem. Seemed to concede most times the opposition had a chance. I don't doubt Martin's style will leave us a bit exposed, I just feel the one thing that's been a constant is the same set of defenders/goalkeepers.
  4. Not only that but Lavia and Tino are genuinely worth their price tags to other teams. They are good enough already and have the potential to become world class. We were never getting £40m for JWP and surely everyone knew that. He just wasn't in demand, won't improve and isn't good enough for the big teams.
  5. I have seen this mentioned. We compromised on the fee to get more of the money upfront.
  6. To be fair the club have (will have) made an incredible profit on 3 players. It was always going to happen. Leeds have loaned players out and are likely to lose Adams and Sinisterra as well. Leicester have lost Barnes and Maddison.
  7. With the amount of money we are raking in, there is no need to sell Smallbone. Especially if it's for a low fee. Might as well just use him for the season (he clearly understands the managers game plan) and let him go on a free if he doesn't sign a new deal.
  8. He's spot on as well. These useless p*icks have had countless opportunities and been crap every single time. Djenepo, McCarthy, Bree, Aribo, Lyanco just to name a few.
  9. Same team that started against Sheff Wednesday. Personally I'd rather have Adams up top but can't see that happening now he played the majority of the game tonight.
  10. Leeds definitely deserved a point from that. Probably a fair result given how well Cardiff defended in that second half.
  11. Most teams we play this season will be sitting deep, hoping to frustrate us. Adam Armstrong will be pretty useless against those sides. If Ipswich genuinely do want him and offer us £8 million I'd snap their hands off.
  12. He just doesn't offer enough of a presence to play up top on his own. Constantly dropping deep and never in the six yard box when it's needed. Just look at Che's goal. He's in the right place after a little bit of good movement.
  13. Matt clearly has a contact within the club. There's certainly been a large turnover of staff over the last few months..
  14. I'm yet to be convinced that Tella has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League if I'm honest.
  15. Bednarek is the better defender and Stephens is better with the ball at his feet. I think that pairing should be adequate for the championship but if ABK leaves I'd definitely like to see another CB coming in.
  16. I'm not sure JWP will stay as a matter of choice. I just don't think anyone else other than West Ham are interested. If they don't stump up what we want then I can see him staying.
  17. He was my MOTM tonight. Best game I've seen him play in a long time.
  18. He's not great but as you say, certainly good enough to be a back up right back in this league.
  19. My stance is that I'd be content with £30m for JWP. I don't rate him as much as the majority of our fanbase and free kicks aside, I think we could find a decent replacement for half that price.
  20. I think it's fairly obvious that Stephens isn't going to be sold.
  21. Personally I think it make a bit of sense. If he has a good season then his value will increase. We could potentially sell him for more next year or if we go up, he could return with a decent season under his belt. Alternatively he could totally flop.
  22. I think he has his heart set on staying in the premier league but can't necessarily see him kicking up a fuss. As you say his overall body language seems a little off.
  23. I think we need 3 big signings. CB, CM, and a CF. Would be nice to sign a keeper and a wide player too. Harwood-Bellis, Grimes/Downes and Piroe. If we added those 3 to the spine of the team I'd be pretty confident on having a really good season. All 3 are proven Championship players who have the potential to do well in the Premier League as well.
  24. Bazunu; Tino, Charles, Stephens, Manning; Smallbone, JWP, Alcaraz; Tella, Amo-Ameyaw; Armstrong/Adams. Would have had Stu in for Amo-Ameyaw but it looks as if he's injured. Edozie hasn't impressed me much in pre season. Toss up between Armstrong and Adams up top. Charles at CB unless Bednarek is fit.
  25. I do agree, obviously it's the main part of a goalkeepers job and he has really struggled with shot stopping. He certainly has the potential though and under the right coaching I hope he will improve. There is absolutely no way he should have been a first choice keeper in the Premier League last season, I don't think anyone can argue with that. I can't see us signing another keeper whilst McCarthy is here so hopefully Bazunu can regain some confidence this season in a lower quality league.
