Not sure if it's been mentioned but Jones stated the other day that "systems don't win you games". After the defeat today he comes out and says "from now on we will do it my way with my system". But I thought the system didn't matter, Nathan?

I don't think Ankersen should resign. I think he should own up to his mistake by sacking Jones tonight.

I agree, he certainly hasn't improved. He's still a good defender though. The problem is he is so poor on the ball. That's why I think he works quite well next to DCC as he is much more composed. If you play Lyanco, Salisu and Bednarek then you're just giving the ball away for fun, as all 3 cannot pass for toffee.

Clearly DCC and Jones have fallen out - that is the only possible explanation for the way Jones is treating him.

I might just go for a day out shopping in London with the Mrs instead. Yes, it's genuinely got that bad.

How has Bednarek managed to get out the way of that strike? Bazunu could have done better but that's terrible from Bednarek.

Bazunu; Bree, DCC, Salisu, Perraud; Lavia, Alcaraz, JWP; Edozie, Orsic, Adams. Could easily switch ABK, Diallo or Mara into that line up. Just no Armstrong or Lyanco please.

Absolutely horrendous player.

Vitinha is more realistic than Dembele. A lot of potential and seems like our sort of player (hardworking, team player, unlikely to ask for huge wages). He ticks a lot of the boxes for me.

I've been a big critic of Diallo but he had a very good game last night. His passing was a bit wayward (as usual) but off the ball he was as good as I've seen him so far. Hopefully he builds on that because he's been so inconsistent.

Likewise Adams missed a couple of good chances. Don't get me wrong, they deserved the win but to say it could have easily been 6 nil is a load of crap.

Wasn't his best game but he's never as bad as Adam Armstrong. It's criminal how that guy keeps getting picked. Get Orsic in the side ffs.

Tbf he is arguably one of the best keepers in the world at the moment. I agree though Bazunu needs to be doing better in general.

Maybe the board are relying on Jones getting more out of the forward players we already have. To be fair moving JWP further forwards is helping us. I'll be shocked if Orsic doesn't chip in with a few and Mara can finish although I'm yet to be convinced by his all round game. It's certainly risky.

Bazunu; Lyanco, DCC, Salisu, KWP; Diallo, Lavia; Orsic, JWP, Edozie; Adams. (4-2-3-1) At home to an average side I'd rather play two attacking wide players rather than Elyounoussi who tends to slow attacks down. Leeds got at Villa the other night and were by far the better side (despite losing). Wouldn't be too fussed if AA played ahead of Edozie or Orsic.

I see Watkins got injured yesterday. Does anyone know how serious it was? If it's a bad one then I doubt Villa would let Ings go.

He plays in 3 or 4 positions yes but isn't very good in any of them.

This really. Winning 3 games in a row, two of them being away and one being against one of the best sides in the world is a pretty good turnaround. Maybe he does just need a bit of time. There is no reason why we shouldn't get behind the team and the manager from here on in because let's be honest, he isn't going anywhere.

I've seen that a few of their fans seem to rate him. They think he could do well in the Prem.

I see a few Everton fans let off fireworks right outside the Southampton team hotel in the early hours of the morning. Really hope we can turn these w*nkers over.

I can't see us selling him in January. I do think he'll be gone in the summer though.
