As each day passes the glimmer of hope that we may get something fades away...
-
West Ham signing Jean-Clair Todibo for €40m. On top of £27m for Fullkrug, £25m for Summerville & £40m for Killman. That is crazy sums of money.
-
Something to do with Atalanta maybe? Hopefully just putting two and two together with them getting all that money for Undav.
-
Brighton have bid €29m for O'Riley according to an Italian journalist 😰
-
Yep, he does look very impressive. Much more so than Nathan Wood anyway. Edozie has been decent since coming on too.
-
What a horrible side Lazio are. Just gone around kicking us to pieces all night. No need.
-
Can anyone believe we actually gave McCarthy a two year deal? Honestly it's mind boggling. He was clearly playing for a new deal now doesn't give a shit again. It worked.
-
This is my main gripe and also possibly why he looked better under Selles where the focus was more off the ball.
-
I'd rather we got one or the other instead of missing out on both - which could well happen unless we sort ourselves out.
-
100%. No point in signing a creative player like O'Riley/Carvalho if we haven't got anyone to put the ball in the net.
-
I hope they do, might actually give us a bit of money to spend on an attacking player.
-
At least we all seem pretty prepared for a hammering this time. That Sunderland result came out of nowhere and was a complete shocker.
-
Problem is we can't compete with Brighton in terms of a fee.
-
Just can't see O'Riley happening now unfortunately. Carvalho and Buonanotte more realistic IMO.
-
Watching the Celtic game - O'Riley is putting in some very decent corners and does seem to have a very good left foot.
-
I just refuse to believe neither Dibling or SAA would've contributed less than Mara or Sulemana for example. SAA actually had a very good impact off the bench in his first few games.
-
BBD wide left, AA on the right and a new CF through the middle, surely?
-
He's on the bench

More of the same old I'm afraid. No end product from Edozie. Stephens is really unfit and can't pass for toffee. Armstrong is not a number 9. Taylor looks solid albeit slow and adds nothing going forward. Long season ahead. Only positive so far is Sugawara who looks class.
-
I don't think he'll be sacked this season regardless. He's just signed a new contract and they clearly want some stability on the managerial front.
-
I would rather see a 4-3-3 in general so do agree to an extent - but to be honest with our current lack of quality I think whichever shape we play we will probably get beaten - it just depends on how many we lose by. That's quite negative I know.
-
Pretty sure Armstrong missed hell of a lot more big chances than Che did last season. I'm not defending some of his finishing but you're underplaying his contribution massively. I don't know the stats on minutes to goals but I'd hazard a guess that Che had a more than decent return. Sounds like an agenda to me.
-
Agree. If we go up to Newcastle with our current squad and play 4 at the back I fear we will get torn apart. Feel like we just have to try and be hard to score against, as we know we don't have anything up top.
-
It's a bit scary to think the season is just over two weeks away. You're probably right, if we don't sign anyone else this week then by the time they've got up to speed/integrated into the group, you wouldn't expect them to play the opening game. I'd imagine Newcastle fans will be extremely confident going into that game.
-
It does sound a little silly but I do hope there's more interest in him. Maybe other options will arise towards the end of the window? I feel in this day and age the money for him is more important than keeping him for another season when it looks like we've signed a very decent replacement.
