There was an article from the Athletic last week saying a move is highly unlikely due to the poor relationship between the clubs. Guess it's hard to say if that's definitely the reason but it certainly wouldn't make a deal any easier.
-
Not sure Benson necessarily chose Hull over us, sounds like Burley refused to deal with us.
-
Plus he's a genuine right sided player. It's gone quiet on him though.
-
The problem has never been passing it around at the back. It's about drawing the opposition out of shape by moving it around quickly and with a bit of purpose.
-
Just seen that Cardiff fans reckon they played better today than they have in months! Think they had quite a changed side and missed a hatful of chances as well as the penalty misses. Sheffield Wednesday only had 5 shots on target and won 4-0.
-
Yep. Neto back for Wolves now though so not convinced he'd get a great deal of time there. Leeds seem inundated with attacking midfielders/wingers so I'd be surprised if he went there, guess Gnoto might be off. If Hull get Benson then I can only see them playing Carvalho centrally, which he can do to be fair.
-
It sounds weird because he scored and I thought things were looking up after a few decent cameos but today he struggled against League Two opposition in a dominant display.
-
He tied Manning in knots for the disallowed goal but let's be honest, it's not exactly a good marker for how good he is because my nan could do that.
-
I think KWP said in an interview he really wants to be a captain at some point. I'd imagine he's one of the most respected players in the dressing room. Bednarek would be a different type of captain but both good shouts.
-
You say you think KWP is too quiet to be skipper yet Armstrong has been great but seems one of the most quiet players on the pitch?
-
I think 2 is a premier league rule?
-
Id like to see the majority of the side made up by those usually on the bench plus a few youngsters. Would be great to keep the momentum and the unbeaten record going.
-
To be fair we seem to have sorted out this issue at home. Granted it's still a problem away from home though.
-
Yeah I'm not convinced Stephens is necessarily a "gaffers boy" in that sense. On the other hand, Martin and Manning are clearly quite close.
-
Thought I was watching us away from home tbh. Similar style of play to Brighton, they controlled the game but lacked the killer instinct in the final third.
-
A few links today to European sides being interested in Bednarek. I wonder if his agent is putting his name out there?
-
I'd imagine he's pushing to get more game time after his illness and injuries. A few minutes off the bench here and there isn't really going to help him.
-
Agree and this is how I've always seen Stephens, a decent leader and good back up for us but no more than that. He'd probably be in most starting 11s in this league apart from say the top 5-6 sides.
-
Yep Martin went on record and said we wanted to replace Tella in the summer. We tried to sign Patrick Roberts but Sunderland priced us out.
-
I think the club agrees considering we are looking at a Carvalho/Brooks/Benson sort of player.
-
Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea. You'd be incredibly disappointed if we didn't get 6 points from those two games.
-
Well this is a forum, where fans post things about the team. How's that for genius.
-
Well, it's pretty bonkers that anyone would think Stephens is a better option at right back than KWP. So you'd assume there's another reason behind it.
-
Well if that isn't the case then I'm concerned that our manager thinks Stephens is the answer at right back.
-
Russell Martin has done a really good job since we lost those 4 games in a row but surely he has to sack off this obsession with shoehorning Stephens into the side. The back 4 has been totally settled and we were keeping clean sheets for fun. Why change it?
