Guess you didn't celebrate that goal then pal?
-
Pretty happy with that side. Not a fan of Smallbone though, would rather have Charles or Alcaraz.
-
It's the same referee that failed to send Jack Stacey off against us 2 weeks ago.
-
That assist for the first goal 😱
-
"I'm sure we'll end up with someone we are happy with" reads to me as if we've missed out on a number of players in that position.
-
Wouldn't have been able to make the Saturday, so this is perfect for me!
-
Easy for him to say that, isn't it? Apart from Koemans second season, Krueger oversaw a generally terrible period for us, so I don't think he has much credit in the bank.
-
Two Cardiff defenders in there for some odd reason.
-
No idea about the Adams bid but the stuff about Wolves being in trouble with FFP is made up rubbish by football insider.
-
This is fake news

Holgate is fine as a squad option in this league but I wouldn't want him at Saints at all if we got promoted.
-
You're certainly not getting a goalscoring forward that can also hold it up and bring others into play in January for circa £5 million. Hell, we paid almost £10 million for someone who had a serious Achilles injury!
-
Of course he might but I've yet to see any evidence of that. Obviously we don't see what happens behind closed doors but given the fact he is still in the side shows that Martin is happy with him.
-
I just wouldn't sell him. It doesn't seem worth it, especially given our record of signing strikers. We would get £3-4 million max due to his contract situation and he'll want to keep scoring to give himself the best chance of going to a decent team in the summer.
-
Fraser setting up a few of those goals as well..
-
I'm almost certain Sulemena is off in the summer (my own opinion that is).
-
Agreed. It's not like a serious injury when you're unsure if the muscle/bone/joint will recover to the same strength. As you say, probably just needs regular games.

They didn't press us more because of the risk in leaving gaps in the midfield/defence. Teams like that who know they have inferior players will generally defend and hope for a 1-1 or a lucky 1-0 win on the counter. At the end of the day we only just managed to beat them with a last minute goal, despite domination of the ball. Their manager was probably worried that if they'd pressed us, it could've ended 4-1. The only teams that have come to St Mary's, pressed us and managed to win were teams better than us at the time (Leicester and Ipswich). Swansea tried a little when we were on a roll and failed miserably.

The high press is great when it works but if the opposition are good enough to play around it, it can be a disaster, as we found out in the Prem. Once teams had worked us out it fell apart. Sheff Wednesday are now scoring goals with the new tactics but they still look vulnerable defensively. Hopefully there will be gaps in the midfield for our superior players to exploit. The game at their place was incredibly one sided but their game plan very nearly worked. It'll be interesting to see what tactics they employ this weekend.

I'd go for this team.. Bazunu; KWP, Bednarek, THB, Manning; Downes, Charles, S.Armstrong; Fraser, A.Armstrong, Adams. Slightly more attacking line up would be to take Charles out, drop Stu back and play Alcaraz in the 10.

Let's be honest we will put out a reasonable side at worst. Apart from a couple of youngsters, the side against Walsall was pretty strong. So we should as well. As others have said - the draw is gonna open up for the championship sides.
-
Until Mara works harder off the ball and develops the ability to hold the ball up with his back to goal, I don't think he'll be starting many games for us.
-
Our favourite scoreline...2-1 home win.
-
I'm not so sure, seems like that Burnley Chairman would put his ego before anything else.
-
Like Alcaraz and Walker Peters two quite recent examples?
