DM: Mauricio Pochettino has failed this season
OldNick replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
A goal was scored that no keeper would have saved and we missed at least one chance that even Ali Dha would have taken. you cant legislate for that type of thing.....oh and by the way we won the FA cup as a 2nd tier club against a top division side against all odds. Its football ,and when GS stops wetting himself everytime he thinks about a 5th round cup tie he might be able to get on with his life. We may have beaten Sunderland with the full team, but we may have lost to Hull or any other club we were drawn against. Come back whining when we get to a cup semi final and have played our weaker team, not the 5th round -
we wouldnt have got to the final anyway so its all hypothetical
-
I assume your next thread will be Do Prado and Puncheon, followed by Mayuka and Puncheon. What about comparing him with penalty takers, or actually against players who would have been competing him for his place. Can you just let us know his goal scoring ratio when he played for us ?

i often hear about Plan B, surely if you are very successful with Plan A you keep to it. PlanB to most teams is the long ball for the last 10minutes. Until we have players with power and real pace on the bench we will play the same way. We are in year 2-3 of the clubs developing the style of play that has made clubs like Barcelona and Bayern the way they are. It is not the time to throw it all away. MP will carry on getting the players playing from the back and whilst it is scary at times we have to believe in their ability. The new players are comfortable on the ball and in time it will rarely be an issue if our centre half has the ball at his feet. Our progress is amazing and once we have a bit more quality putting the ball away we will be fine

lol it was funny and still makes me smile as well Bearsy. The morons in life are all around

I wish you would shout a bit louder so we can hear you from down there, we are going to come down a bit so we can hear you. I've got a feeling that you slip down a bit yet so we'd better try and get closer. Celebrating a win at Dagenham and Redbridge, awesome
-
you've never been a judge of a player though DT;)
-
Chanrai was their best hope as he had the funds to get them back up. it was to his best interests to get them to the PL or at worst the CCC. The best thing is if they keep what they have got IMO
-
I don't think Pompeys have won 4in 18 I think you have miscounted your results of your beloved team
-
The thought of those Pompey wannabes up in the PL makes me want to throw up.

only way you lot will see a Victory is looking at the back of the coin

:cry:More importantly what happened to Orchard Saint, If Irecall correctly he put a Post up saying he had liver cancer and was hoping to bring his 7year old lad over from Ireland to see a game. I sent him a PM but have heard nothing. I think he last posted at the end last year. I do hope somebody can give us good news or Orchard himself replies

I thought we had some decent fans on this site but some of the replies to the OP are pretty sad. I never knew of the rivalry until I sat in the home stand at FP in 74? When we won 2-1. There were Saints fans mixed in with the home fans and at the end OWTS was sung around the ground, there was I happily joining when a 6ft + bloke put his face to mine !with spittle coming out of his mouth screamed Spastic to me. I am not one to hate then just because they are from Pompey, I respect anyone who supports their hometown club, as. I said it is an accident of birth. I do agree their hatred of us is much deeper, I put that down to the resentment they had of us as we were the top dogs for generations especially after they were the top team pre 1950, their fall from Grace did hurt them .
-
it is all about accidents of birth, I was born in Southampton and so support them, If I had been born in Portsmouth i would have supported them. A lot comes down to our passion and pride of our home town and so we are ultra defensive to our nearest threat ( and I put that in the context of locality)

The club was a complete mess when he took over. Loads of free loaders and hangers on. We know you fell out with him as he didn't stock your books and so have an agenda. NC stopped our club being an easy touch when clubs approached us for our star players, and they knew that when NC the players were not for sale they weren't not like all the times before. Are you as confident now that when the club say a player is not for sale they mean it? He got the last penny out of a deal, and whilst we were not popular with some of the press as we didn't fawn all over them we got respect.
-
I can't believe how biased the after match comments were by James and. Mcmanamen. To say the decision did not change the game is ridiculous, if we had the same decision at the same time and had gone 2-1 up the game would have changed in our favour. We would have been more confident and City edgy.
-
I disagree , he spoke about Sterling, Wellbeck ,Rooney, Ashley Cole,STurridge. I suspect they are pencilled in
-
I keep hearing on here they cant afford the players etc but they do not seem near financial problems from where Im sitting. perhaps they do have a good financial plan, i know, I know but!!
-
you should go and post on your own favourite teams board instead of your boring constant negative drivel. Yes Man U have won lots, it means nothing to me. My best footballing moment was watching Saints beat your lot with a last minute winner at FP. It wasnt winning a cup it felt a lot better. The medals are for the players, the pride is in my hoem town club
-
yep sadly I think you are right, especially if Everton got fourth place
-
it would lessen the pain
-
Would still be great to get him in the summer, but I suspect Mourinho may have learned from his mistake this season. I suspect Chelsea and Evertons fortunes may have been different had the loan not gone ahead. I wonder if Jose doesn't ge on with him. Everton would be in pole position but he would be a superb signing IMO
-
anything to undermine the manager suits the agenda.
-
Could you shout please Mack as we can't hear you from all the way down there ?
