true to a degree but if you are fighting for survival you require all the others doing the same.

Gordon's bank bailout was the brave work of genius
OldNick replied to Wade Garrett's topic in The Lounge
The warnoings of Northern Rock didnt make them make moves to stop the dealings immediately, as for the profit Lol, it wouldnt even cover the loss on the gold price he cost us by selling it nunpence. -
Of course , the builders would take a 20% hit!!!!!. Are you sure you are not Gordon Brown When vat goes up on fuel do the petrol companies just absorb it or on any other products? Adding VAT ot building costs would be passed on. They of course may make it a lower rate eg 5% but once it has been but on it will be a progressive tax.
-
VAT is a fair tax as the spenders pay. It is the spenders who have put our trade deficit in the state it is in. VAT was raised from 15 to 17.5% as the poll tax (a fair tax IMO, everybody pays for the services provided) was so objected to. The money had to be raised and that was the most effective way.

No they are right. I would have whined like a girl if we needed the opposion to lose only to have a weakened side put out. When we wnt down Man U played a weakened side at home to WBA who stole a draw. That helped them stay up...not forgetting Pompey helping as well

Watching the leaders debates the other night, nobody really pressed Clegg about his plans to charge vat on new build and new houses. Has anyone details of what they say about that in their referendum. I may have misunderstood the issue and it is only on new build extensions etc, but if it covers new houses that would add a massive amount to costs. PS I forgot to put ? mark on the thread title sorry

and you are worried if the Tories come to power Lol. Labour have swept all the problems under the carpet and it is a timebomb. No-one will come out of this unscathed whoever you are (except MP's pensions of course )

We all have stories of waste but I will put this one up again. A year ago Jan my cousin died of cancer. The week before she died a stannh lift was fitted. Sadly it was used just the once to take her to a hospice. A week after her death the lift was taken out and thrown on the lawn. Her husband said @be careful that has only been used once' They replied 'It doesnt matter it is going on a skip' He said 'she died of cancer not leprosy' I recall one of our labour leaning posters responded by saying . well the rails dont fit all houses. The motor and chair could still be saved and reused and as the house is an estate one in Lordshill I odubt that the staircase varies to many others there. Another £3900 wasted let alone the fitters costs.

And are you not patronising saying those clubs are small, you obviously believe you are a mcu h bigger club than them. So you are also patronising. The fact is that Southampton are a much bigger club than Bournemouth and have never been on our radar. Our fall from grace has pulled us down to where we are and I for one have always said that we should respect any clubs who have earned the right to play us. You have, but I will not be looking to have you as our major rival. I have many Cherries fans who try nad make a rivalry, a need to be noticed i suppose. The point is who is most likely to gain the place back in higher leagues? You will come like Yeovil , like Reading trying to make it a 'Big Derby' but most will still look at it as our old auntie coming around, we forgot what she looks like, but be nice as she wont be here much longer

If the FL clubs back down they are just committing themselves for a short term gain. The PL will be with the same few clubs competing for promotion back to the PL. No doubt if I were a PL club Id have a dofferent opinion, but I do hope NC is really pushing for this to be refused.

I think that a lot of labour supporters may not bother voting as they must be fairly disenchanted. Blair will up some votes for them (He is the Marmite politician.) even though he struggled to rid himself of his new American accent some eat out of his hands . I think the Guardian is in danger of losing its advertising revenue from the Government and so needs to have part of the LiB Lab / Lib Con pact on its side

you are taking this a tad seriously. Upping it to 6 miles FFS. Most of my team are training to make the long walk up the tunel. A bit of fatherly advice, like Phils golf when you have no idea where the ball is going after you strike it, you need to be able to run 6 miles.I suggest a few hours getting to know the basics of passing the ball and in the correct diction

well he was fully booked in the local pub and so I had to go and watch him in Wembley arena

Well that seems good to me, who is going to nick a tank from Bovington to get us in and out safely.Lol It does seem an apt venue, the pints of beer at 2.35 doesnt interest me, could you get the price of Pina Colada's, and does it come with an umbrella and all the trimmings. If this is true about the function roomnlets have a vote of interest. Im a yes man........oops not in the Phil Neale type of way

I might even get Scudamore to put this event in my honours in the programme. You can add your chance meetings with Tiger and the Bullfrogs but my honour has far more substance, I was the first post on page 500, and you know what I hadn't realised! Lol

That thought warms the ****les of your heart

My god a SWF get together , it would look like the bar in Star Wars mixed with One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. If somebody wants to orgasnise it then great. One thing make sure money to cover the room is taken in advance, I wouldnt trust the lot on here LOl. Any good ideas I would welcome them, the player of the season thing would be good, as Im sure the recipient would love to pick up an award from us lot!!

Only the away team would wish to view such things. If you have any contacts with webcams in bible readings my team with high moral standing will be happy to watch those. I have of course been practising my moaning,I just have been watching Avram Grants greatest moans and am sharpening myself up with them

The Tories have not got enough of their best people in the jobs to make them palatable for the majority. Clarke and hague are not at the ofrefront and so the average man cannot take to them Gove is oily. Brown has pumped billions into the economy with his quantative easing, that was an economic and election gamble. We will be paying for it for generations
-
The reason he called it a disaster is that he was worried that he was asked questions out of his comfort zone. I thought he dealt with her well, but his paranoia was that it had gone wrong. He called her (unfairly IMO) a bigot. The main thing it shows to the public in general that all the mealy mouthed talking by all these peole means nothing, as they say 1 thing but really think another. Brown will be damaged by the voters who are not politicalised, as I suspect they will move away from him. Tonight the politicians have a big decision to make, do they tell us the truth and what we have to expect after the election regarding the state of the economy or do they hide it? It would take a brave man to come out with the truth for the nation , but they really have duty to do so

Listening to AP after the last game he said he wanted to build a promotion side that was also ready for a CCC protion side. I dont thinkHM fits that bill and would be surprised if he is indeed interested.

Went to the Wembley Arena last night and watched Ricky Gervais. Did i enjoy it? Yes Would I go again ? probably not. Im as broad minded as the majority, but I found his constant mimicking of oral sex and masturbation is tad boring after the 4th 5th ,20th time. He got a fair reception at the end but hardly a standing ovation. Even the opening film clip he had before he came on was bizarre, about him swallowing 65m gallons of cum, and having to import it from China and India to keep up to supply him. Amusing night but not as good as I had hoped.

OH, thanks for that. Seems a bit of a set up.
