  1. Adult compromise LOl We have centuries of a system that has kept us free from dictators and left us stable. PR is just a step into the unknown. I accepted the last 3 election results, even though the incoming government had less votes than Cameron has now, and interestingly I saw this morning that had Brown got the same votes he would have had a 40 seat majority. Same size constituancies seems to be a fairer way. Of course it wont happen as Labour would lose out, and the left would whine again. The horse trading that is going on now is unpaletable IMO and will in time make people sick of it if it is every time after an election
  2. they were bloody great years for me. Seeing Scargill and other militant trades union leaders trying to use their members to bring down governments for their own political ends was great. Seeing miners being foolishly used for this was not so paletable. After living through Red Robbo bringing down Leyland and all of British industry being paraylised by union power, it was a breath of fresh air.
  3. This would be the norm in future as all elections would end up with this horse trading. It is the firstr time in 35 years for us to have been in this situation

SHE ??????, she it was a bloke doing the voice over
  5. The power the Liberals have now is far more disproportionate to their support/votes received. How can this be right, and why PR is such a poor way to have an electorial system. No system is perfect but having the SNP etc saying they will support the govt for XYZ of extra money is jsut deplorable. Im sickened and whilst \i believe a Con/Lib pact would be palatable and would be prepared to accept some of their ideas I think it is time to cut them adrift and let them snuggle up to Labour and Brown who wants to hold onto power until Sept and run as PM until then

their reporter said that ML stayed away in anger as we didnt make the play-offs. I thought it was due to the volcanic ash!!
  7. The home team changing rooms has been modernised and fully kitted out at the start of the season to a fantastic standard. The away changing rooms lol I doubt there will be a clean surface to put your photos out to display
  8. I think we have to wait until after the cup final to see what will happen. If they get a CVA, something that the general media think they will and then they have put two fingers up to the world and won
  9. what a load of shi##
  10. yep if harriet Harman and Mandelson had been more in the media istead of just quotes it would have been another 50 seats to the Tories
  11. Of course Labour have been gagging to do it everytime they have been elected. They didnt complain that even if they had a samller vote than the others they still may have got a lot more seats due to the fact they have strongholds in the urban areas andd so get a bigger amount of seats for the votes given.Hypocrites and only interested now as it suits them.. by the way Brown promised a referendum on Europe we never got it, so dont hold your breath.
  12. Im starting to take this personally, if we are not careful Ill be putting my boots on!!! Looks like Fordy will have the pleasure of being managed by the 'Chosen One'...oh my wife has said I misheard her and she said I was the 'The Cloven one'
  13. Gordon Brown and Mandelson won. Clegg lost big time Cameron was just above neutral due to the starting place. To win 90 seats and still not get power is a bit harsh It is amazing that Kinnock mandelson Brown all of a sudden are so keen on PR when thewy have fought it for generations.
  14. for a feeling of justice to be done, I myself cannot see any of that coming to pass yet. Phil and others give me comfort some justice will be had, but at present it looks far from that at present.
  15. AA will get freedom of the city. They will name a bell after him and Avram after this dodge. Seems to me the HRMC have handed this case over to the office junior
  16. Now children if this is not enough to teach you not to go out into the sun without suncream and a hat on, I don't know what is.
  17. Now Benjii, I have been at a funeral today and so missed most of the action. On the way home i had to listen to Matt Slater on five live. He said that Pompey were going to pay 20p in the £ over 5 years and would start next season on 0 points in the CCC. Now of course he may not know the full facts as nor do I. They then went and interviewed Terry the builder who is on the creditors committee, that also includexs bizarrely the PFA (why when their debts are covered by football full payment stuff) Now Terry the Builder and Bishops printers together were on the committee. Both Pompey fans or suppliers in the future. The builder was owed 55k. Now he will get 20K knocked off his tax bill as a bad debt, and also return back 20p in the pound. Of course the original 55k included his profit, perhaps half. What is his debt really after tax rebate and his 20p in the £ ? 10-20k perhaps at most less his initial profit. He is not going to allow anything to happen to Pompey and as he said, @ At least we can guarentee the clubs survival' The HMRC have upped their debt, in this climate , will they turn 7m down? Pompey will get away with it. It is not that i dont trust your , Claphams or others judgement on this, it is just that it is too big a rotten apple to crush as the smell is too much for people to take and it would bring too many people into the equation.Football does not want that. There has been no question why Pompey appointed a new CEO, funny he was part of the FA in a great job, why leave tghat, unless he was sent to cover. I feel sick of this and the way the media just brush it off as 'Oh Pompey owe 138m' no questions and then, 'and we feel sorry for the supporters' Well I dont as they are donning their Wembley kit all on the back of being part of supporting a illegally trading business
  18. Lol and the referees love them. When he was losing a few games back he was implying that they were cheating for not giving them a penalty
  19. Google him and read his stuff. Lol. Already there has been counter claims to his inaccurate account.
  20. I can see the logic, but modern Britain does not have the stomach for the pain. So the minority Tories get in with Libs tame support. The pain of cuts and preparing the economy for a future is too much for the electorate and a Labour governemnt comes in as the coalition collapses. It is not an election you really want to win. The governor of the BOE has ot it right, the pain and medicine needed is so severe the electorate will not forgive.
  21. she looks like a young version of his wife. Can't blame him for admiring her though
  22. Just a bit, they used to feed it doughnuts
  23. yep you are right. You might be Madrid Saint or Torremolinos saint by then. Keep it as it is, I like to recognise the grumpy lefties when they post.
