  1. Its amusing having football fans complain about being treated like cattle when talking about airlines
  2. Connelly may be long in the tooth but his experience and natural scoring ability will turn him into a great bit of business if he stays fit. ! chance 1 goal goodbye Saga
  3. In general I dont have any dislike for them until the 2 relegation seasons where they were really happy seeing us go down. I always wanted them to do well until recently. I wont big them up to think they are rivals though
  4. I wasnt referring to today but a couple of weeks ago there was a hread on him.
  5. they are poor mans skates and have been giving it large.I want them to wither.
  6. It is amazing how quickly we become optimists. To all those who have slated Lambert you should hang your heads. He has been great from day 1 and now AL has found form our forwards are looking effective. I must admit when I saw we had let them back into the game i said we'd draw especially after Morgan had missed the chance to seal the game earlier. I was also wrong about Pompey , i really thought Spurs would not have the bottle.FP has lost a bit of its menace to away teams. Saints have a midfield general in Hammond a good keeper, a cetral defence partnership and dtrong centre forward.Like all teams having a strong spine and you are hard to beat.
  7. if he is correct with his interview he has certainly pulled off a coup. If he got 10m profit from Al Faraj and still kept the land around FP he has pulled off a fantastic deal. I cant believe that PS would be that stupid to have let that happen, after all his 1.2m wage should get the best.

  9. The army surplus shop that faced Hoghlands, Im not sure if it is still there. There used to be large tearooms in the highstreet.Upstairs i think. That coffee shop at the top end of the high street where the smell of coffee was lovely.

    sadly I'm over 10k posts....oh 12k
  11. Fair comment
  12. i think all fans would swap league positions with you. I wouldnt swap much else though. The FA cup win was a win but it was the most low key event that i can recall in recent history. The game was poor and I doubt many will recall it with effection in years to come. Now if Cardiff had rightly won then.......
  13. has he lost his contract at Sky?
  14. I recall many times when the Dell or SMS was not a sell out. Football was different in the 80's and 90's with hooliganism and disasters effecting all clubs in the leagues. I point to the fact though that i have been toold for 25 +years that pompey were a sleeping giant and would fill FP easily. The time you came up with bally you didnt do it then (of course the excuse was that you were rubbish and relegated) since then you have had a place in the PL and you have had a team of star international players , won the Fa cup and still after a blip cannot fill your ground. it is only a case of getting 16+k fans with Pompey shirts on their back not the away section as well!!!! funny that spurs are in town and its a sell out, i can see all those fans who cant get tickets writiing into Pompey news saying 'I've been going for 30 years and they didnt let me have a ticket' Both clubs have their plastic fans, but the case is as I have tried to get into your skull, you are Wigan of the South, a club who has boufght its success from the depths of the lower leagues and it will take a long time before you are anything other than that. Now if you get your stadium and with that success you will also then get regular crowds in excess of 25k, but you need the stadium and success to do so.If you go down (something i have consistantly said you wont) it will be a long time before you see 16k crowds again.
  15. My father was freinds with those two
  16. I expect they are worried if it became public that the bill had been paid all the other creditors would line up as well. You were correct that you said all along it was a consortium, I was wrong there. If the consortium are welathy the 10m tax bill will be nothing, if they have only paid a slice off then things wont look so clever of course. Are they still Middle eastern or do you think they are from elsewhere?
  17. Millionaires club at the Rank is where I met my wife. Anyone else there the night Roger D'courcy died a death on stage? Biglands in St marys street, some good stuff there over the years to be had. My parents had shops in St marys street and Northam road and so this was a regular haunt. Russell shoe shops in st marys street, they had 2 shops there. St marys street was such a thriving place in the late 60's and early 70's. The Atherley saturday morning to watch a couple of films (Marx bros)and it was bedlum with all the kids running around. The milk machines at the bus station, it was the only place they sold the strawberry flavoured stuff. Henrys records Shirt king Holt and Haskell sports shop and of course Toomers where they sold all the subutteo teams and stuff.
  18. lol that would be funny if it happened, but the gorillas will be out in force. they will bang their drums ring the bells and HR's lilly livered fancy dans will roll over. Im going to put money on a Pompey victory

Indirectly it will effect my insurance premiums, due to serial claimants the companies load all our policies to cover for them

For once I agree 100% BTF. Either way it costs us as taxpayers or when we take out insurance.

She had lost a lot of her earning potential after she grew those lips. Her work had dried up. I got the impression she claimed she would never be ale to work agian.Hence the large payout.

thanks BP (great keeper by the way) i thught I was right about the NHS.
  23. it was a dead cert that HR's return would sell out. A large away support and the plastics wanting to watch the stars playing for Spurs.Whatrs the betting bottler Crouch has an injury?
  24. it's karma, you should have been home and copying the 2nd dvd of the forum match that you had said you would weeks ago, and send it to me.
  25. I think you are under a false illusion. The Itchen does not generate an atmpsphere around the grond as the majority of the ground cannot hear you. Yes the away fans can, but as soon as they sing you are drowned out. In fact the singing there has waned so much that it is rare that the Weare the itchen can be heard. I have sampled the atmosphere in the Itchen and it does rock at times but its effect upon singing the team to victory is secondary to baiting the away fans. If moving the fans from that area to an area that will increase their vocal suport for the team and at the same time reduce the effect of the away fans as they are not right behind the goal and it can only be good for the team
