some might think that the Uni has not been paid its rent and turfed them off....
-
wrong type of money, they cant get hold of any straight stuff.
-
why am I not surprised Lol

Pompey paid their other staff yesterday. That tells me they are not throwing their cap in yet and so I fully expect the players to be paid. That gives the club more time.

'It's your turn to have a lobotomy like the simples behind me' Grant barks as he does his best to look like Darth Vader

true but it is useless using glories from before the 60's and even our FaCup win in the late 70's is starting to become long distant pat to most.

but a lot of those self interests is to not let them go into admin. It is a strange mix

when we were in the PL the major shareholders didnt want to sell their shares as it was long term likely to be a good investment. If we had stayed up and the tv revenues flowed the shareholders would have made a mint. It fell at the last hurdle. Of ocurse some big mistakes were made but all the longterm people who had their noses in the trough wouldnt sell and so a sugar daddy could not come in anyway. Of course if he paid 2-3 times the clubs worht they may have sold, but that was not goin to happen.

Their fans must have watched it 10 times each then

123 you at least have raised your head for the first time in months. Gone is the arrogance we have had for a couple of years. Many pointed out the madness of your expenditure, but you and others scoffed as you lived in the belief that the tv revenue would cover it.We only had to look at Saints losing 100k+ a week with a few highly paid stars at that time to realise that the PL machine is a very hungry animal, clubs with small fanbases would not be able to survive the requiremnt of its owners to pay back the money. Stand bacdk and look at Pompey from a unbiased postion, and then you might see the why so many (not only saints fans ) could see the madness why you spent like it was going out of fashion. It was like buying a Austin Allegro and then putting in top of the range music systems , gold plate the wheel hubs, re upholster the seats with white rhino leather and have a platinum steering wheel , all on borrowings. Of course you had promised the banks that you had a top of the range rolls royce and that would cover any loan. The bank one day saw what you really owned and lost its nerve and wanted thier money back, the platinum steering wheel went straight away as it was saleable, the rhino leather were striped off but the return was miserly, and the gold plated wheel hubs you thought had a value was soon to be shown not to be the case as the Allegro owners club found them too expensive. To make it even more difficult the Austin Alegro already had loans up to and above its value. Nobody actually seems to know what the club owes or is worth but the 2 year world cruise on credit is going to screw you for generations.

What news on ticket sales for the Luton match
OldNick replied to brianoneils slidingtackle's topic in The Saints
I was right at the back in row KK block 31and forgot how good it was sitting up there as the view of the game is so much better. I think I may get a couple of tickets there for next season and move back from the Northam. It does give a better insight into the game -
Sadly religion has no country. It is impossible to know all your enemies and that is why this 'war' will never end.
-
It is a tasteless stunt and I hope all the decent muslims who are the vast majority, speak out against it. That is the only way for the divisions ever to be mended. The muslims have to show the country that they do want to be united with everybody and integrate into the laws and ways of the land.

I understand your postion but footballers to play at their best they do need rest.I agree they dont have another game for 7 days but they had quite a few over christmas as well as travelling. It would be good if they could get a little time to freshen and so perforn to their best. Players get jaded and if yesterday is anything to go by they are now. Please do not mention wages etc as that has nothing to do with over work. The clubbing and womanising is anotehr thing of course and I dont think that has been properly addressed not only at our club

whats 6m? not ross's salary
-
Ross doesnt earn 7m a year from the Beeb.

I looked on a luton site last night (it is crashed this morning) that they were up in arms as there were a large contingent of English Defence League in their section. They were very scathing and embarrassed by it. So fair play to the majority who were just football fans

170k a week for JT , it is a madness. It makes me less keen to get back to that nonsense. Yesterday was perfect , 10-15 quid to get in and still have a game to watch.
-
Yep and he'd be keen to be I suggest. Not that he has said so, just the impression I got
-
Well you should go and watch rather than listen (sorry if you are sight impared) Patterson did more than Antonio did and was up on the defenders shoulders not letting them rest.He also went close to scoring.I liked him
