but i think Phils point is MJ is not the man. he may have found the person/persons interested.I myself have not got off my a### to get anybody at all interested and i suspect that less than a handfull on here have either. All the posters who have been full of derision are sitting behind their computers waiting for it to happen. I think it is a bit rich to totally tear MJ to pieces as he has at least got somebody to bid. it takes some work to do so I expect and we should give some respect of his efforts. We seem in the main to respect Fry and so why are some questioning him listening to MJ's people?? Has he become a fool all of a sudden because he has accepted/ spoken to MJ's contact?

As I say i dont think it is abusive perhaps bad manners or slightly offensive. I dont take umbridge .Most on here are fellow Saints fans, quite a few of the people disrespecting my initial post are fairly new on here though.

I appreciate Hypo defending me from some abuse but i can take it. If by Fry holding on for offers that may or may not appear and then get less for his client or even lose the initial offer and so left with nothing,it is fair to say he Fiddled while Rome burned. Fry is the only person who knows all the facts. i have made my concerns known as I am concerned that by waiting we may lose the only bid we have on the table at present.he may well be confident of another and he rightly will decide in his own time.That does not stop me from considering if we are left with no bidders the implications of that. Iam not saying Im in the know, I just had heard something that disturbed me and voiced it on here. If i know something is certain I will say so.

fair comment but also some of these people have ego's and want an answer quickly.They may only threaten to pull out or might even reduce their offer as they know if they are second best their offer will only come to fruition if the preferred one fails. These people are better poker payers than i am and so who am I to pre judge their thinking.I just post my fears and guage an opinion from the little bits I am hearing form friends and aquaintences.

Of course he would not have sold many football clubs and as we know to our cost football seems to have different business rules than most he would have come up against in the past.It is hard to quantify a worth in this case alos buyers motives.Clapham Saint is very interesting to follow in his posts as he is thinking i would suggest as Fry does and so that gives a good insight to that train of thought. SFC is a massive risk for a small middle sized investor, as i can see it is hard to make a business plan based on fickle football fans and footballers performance. They I would have thought been only interested if there is a good upside , as there is definitely a big downside. What is the expression ' how do you make a small fortune from owning a football club?' you start with a large fortune

but as many have pointed out to me on this thread that we have no choice, the administrator is getting as much as he can for the creditors and doesnt worry what about the club. It is as though i didnt realise it but it shouldnt stop me voicing my genuine concerns

I think that is a very good assessment but many people cant be a#### to hang around. Ithink you are right it could well be a 'low punt' but it is a punt and we dont seem to have many queueing up to make middle range punts.It just signals to me that the people coming in are not big punters.

Well it deoends how long the offer has been sitting on the table. From various sources I have been told that there has been an offer on the table for nearly a week but the verbal offer was 2 weeks ago. He of course should give the opportunity for others to bid but he may be running the risk that thye lose interest and withdraw. I wonder sometines if the fans want him to extract more from the buyers as though us as a club gets it. We should not want the buyer drained of so much capital that they have nothing left to spend on the squad. I assume fans have pinned their hopes on Pinnacle getting the bid accepted, perhaps their publicising MLT's backing was indeed a masterstroke. A bird in the hand has always served me well and at times I may have achieved higher prices but I have learnt that there is so much talk with little backing with so many people.

That is the point, he cant force anybody to buy us but he apparently has had an offer and is waiting for others. If the one party gets frustrated and they walk what aree we left with? His creditors are then left5 in a worse state than they were before so.Talk is cheap and we've had enough of that with buyers over the last few years,if we have an offer then for all parties it may well be best for him to take it.Of course Im not privvy to how much we have left in the kitty to keep us running and again if a local businessman made a loan to pay the last set of wages will he do so again??? if not its good night nurse and all those who are throwing cheap shots will be able to throw their arms up and say 'but nobody told us itmight happen , if only we knew' much like the people who couldnt see the house price dropping and banks overlending.
