  1. I dont understand the hilarity of the radio station. Having a radio station blaring all around Hants, Dorset Wiltshire advertising our club, tickets etc etc was a fantastic advertising tool. In principle it was valid.
  2. There is not a person who doesn't at times have a different opinion to mine, they are wrong of course, but you accept it and counter. I do wonder if the mix of competitors is pretty negative on there, but perhaps thats where we are. I was called contrary by a Saints fan when I voiced my opinion the other day and perhaps he was correct but I do feel it would do us all a favour to have a bit more postive views. There again Id hate a happy clapper!! My record of wanting to keep Puel and to give him a chance, admire Nathan Redmond, seeing a positive in some of the things Rupert did, does put me in a certain bracket lol Great pod anyway
  3. A point is ok.
  4. Apparently as they spread the transfer over 7 years and make payments in installments its a way around it. David Ornstein was on football daily on the BBC explaining it. Clever accounting
  5. I didnt watch the end, and assume he scored but the bit I did watch he looked just ok and will be easily bullied in the PL at present. Just my opinion of course
  6. Maybe but would give us much needed muscle, power, and seems decent in he air
  7. thanks for that, I like the power and he seems to use both feet, Lukakuesque, oh for a Cyrille Regis or Les Ferdinand. All powerful , pacy and scared defenders
  8. OMG we are sinking fast with the players suggested , Akinbiyi will be the next suggestion lol
  9. so lets get this straight, Chris Wood is a lump of a striker who relies on long balls up to him, or bustling around the box, with little mobility. Our fanbase fell to pieces as we were perceived to have a manager who played the long ball. That was not right and we had meltdown, you now want us to have that player who fits into that style of football!! Can you see the madness of this?
  10. Who has come in for other lower PL clubs who really has done well in the under 20m price bracket that we should have got? Im surprised noone has gone for Sarr at Watford, powerful aggressive front man
  11. Well you can stop bringing Ings to te conversation as he is now at WHU, as for Broja he is lying around recouperating somewhere. He has not pulled up trees in the games he played this season and towards the end of his time with us had lost his zip. Any forwards worth their salt are playing for the top sides and any others are a risk. WHU spent a fortune on that Italian and he hasnt fired, so what if we do the same just to appease?
  12. A bargain if he kept us up and any one else we sign doesn't. WHU pay massive wages and as he is a mercenary that's where he will go. Dont believe he is a Saints fan or some kind of local hero as he isn't, he's only interested in No 1
  13. Are you sure DT is Alpine Saint?????? Im sure Alpine had a better judgement of a player lol
  14. Gakpo may not turn out be the bees knees and isnt a centre forward as far as I can see
  15. I think you have got it wrong re Larios
  16. To be fair you can see him hobbling after the first tackle. He did look like a mix of George Lawrence and Ricardo Fuller
  17. The problem with 5 year contracts is that if the player is a dud we are lumbered! Too many times in the recent past we've had players on amazing long term contracts and we cant sell them. Watching the deadline day documentary on Sky I saw last night, the agent said 'you will be on a 4 year contract but you will leave after 2 to go to a bigger club.'
  18. I dont know, was he
  19. I wonder if we have set our minds on the Coventry forward and so dont want Ings for that reason
  20. Im in 2 minds whether Ings not coming back was good or not. WHU have so many options up front and so he wont play every game I assume, are they also in Europe?? If so Danny has his dream
  21. Would he pass a medical?
  22. For me, if JWP flourishes in the more attacking running past the attacker role, there could well be a place for him in the England team. Whether he can push out the players there that is a problem for him
  23. I think the defender going to the post was planned, just the ball moved quicker than the defender as he had a Saints player alongside him and so he couldnt move too soon
  24. Who? Jones, I doubt it as he's Welsh. There again if he was a right back ten he'd be a shoe in. As for JWP he did not deserve to go at that time. Perhaps NJ has foundthe perfect role for him as his goal at Everton was something special
  25. Are we the new West Ham, it seems we are being linked to loads of players! Im used to us being linked to players from Greenock or Folkstone
