I think anyone could take the corners, I recall Redmond taking a few and we scored from at least 1. Dont believe the hype of JWPs corner taking, the velocity of the ball made it very hard for a player to time the run to get on the end of it. There wont be a direct free kick taker to match him again for decades. As for penalties, I dont think JWP was the most confident doing it

Really odd this. Fully expected there to be contingency plans once players had left. So it seems the club is not as financially buoyant as many on here have suggested. Recouping money perhaps.

the myth that a player who has come up from the youth system is a die hard Saint is a nonsense. JWP has it seems pushed for a move, as all of a sudden we have dropped our demands. That's fine as JWP whilst a brilliant free kick taker has IMO broken up more of our attacks than the opposition defence as he too often passes the ball in a negative manner. If he does well at WHU where the fans dont have the 'he's one of our own' tag then I will be happy to say I was wrong. Replace him with a progressive forward thinking midfielder who breaks into the box often not now and again and we've had a great deal. Thank you JWP but time is right for all parties

A bit concerned with the extra minutes at the end. Rarely could we hold out with 3 minutes let alone 7-8 or 9. Also the refs are poor and whilst many are pleased no VAR it will haunt us at times

He was foolish enough to believe that he would be allowed to leave all on Levy's word. He also signed a 6 year contract, yes probably on decent terms but still not putting in a release clause was another mistake. A proper agent would have been more of a match and Kane may well have won things. Not that is everything, aka MLT. It does seem to be the measure that you are judged by what you have won.

Weren't Jwp and Lavia there to do the defensive midfield job? So how many defensive midfielders should we have to help the defence? It is all hypothetical as neither will be here IMO. Still need some grit in the centre to break up attacks. You obviously see a different midfield to me, a midfield that couldnt hold any team we played and constantly overrun. Anyway hopefully RMsees the issue and can address it, we all will be happy with that.

Well for one Romeu was there to add bite and would give a dig to a player, and secondly it wouldn't have matted at all if Carr didnt play again that season. Although it would be a 3 match ban I suspect. It would certainly pleased a lot of fans including me. Rather than limply walk past when you are being totally being disrespected. Hurlock, or Case would not have put up with it. Sometimes a bit of guts and aggression is called for

Romeu would have have something to say about that I suggest. Hurlock , Jimmy Case type figures protected the wonderful youth we had coming through with MLT Shearer and the Wallaces. You need a mix of quality and some steel. I agree though that some of our older players do not hve the mentality. Not sure JWP puts fear into opposing players, and I still cant get over how Caleta Carr let that Newcastle disrespect him and our fans by just wlaking on and not lamping him.
