Well for one Romeu was there to add bite and would give a dig to a player, and secondly it wouldn't have matted at all if Carr didnt play again that season. Although it would be a 3 match ban I suspect. It would certainly pleased a lot of fans including me. Rather than limply walk past when you are being totally being disrespected. Hurlock, or Case would not have put up with it. Sometimes a bit of guts and aggression is called for

Romeu would have have something to say about that I suggest. Hurlock , Jimmy Case type figures protected the wonderful youth we had coming through with MLT Shearer and the Wallaces. You need a mix of quality and some steel. I agree though that some of our older players do not hve the mentality. Not sure JWP puts fear into opposing players, and I still cant get over how Caleta Carr let that Newcastle disrespect him and our fans by just wlaking on and not lamping him. Im sure we would have al ot more respect had he done

As Hanson said you can't win the league with kids. We were bullied last season, let alone in the Championship where the players are more physical and the refs of a low standard. Im all for having young players in the team but we also need some minders

thats him, I couldn't recall his name, thanks

Who has the PL record of assists in consecutive home games (6 if I recall correctly) JWP ?, Stu? or any of the darlings of the fanbase.

Didnt that bloke who came from Man City and buggered off to Chelsea in weeks bring Lavia to us? If so he still may have contact with him

Does the book tell us what country Liverpool is in
-
Crikey, we are not good at making players feel welcome. He has played and done well in the Championship, I reckon he could be one of our mainstays as the season goes on
-
Why, is he a thieving twat then, any club apart for them IMo Iam surprised how little reaction to Sulimana leaving there has been! Imo he will turn out to be one hell of a player

Southampton fans from Salisbury and Basingstoke
OldNick replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
I avoid anything Portsmouth. I hear from many people who have visited both recently and they all have said that Portsmouth is a decent place to visit whilst Southampton is a dump. It saddens me to say this. No doubt this is due to Gun Wharf (never been there) and Southsea but if having West Quay and a large Ikea trumps that, I doubt -
Southampton fans from Salisbury and Basingstoke

I was born in Southampton (Shirley) and proud to be so, I now live in the Salisbury area and agree that Southampton is a shithole. Used to be better heeled than Pompey but I feel the roles have reversed. The city full of scallies and lowlife. Obviously not everywhere but boy has it changed in the last 30 or so years -
For a while I thought the players when interviewed once they signed had AI to do the template quotes 'Greatest club, fans etc etc' but then remembered they still have gas lamps in their homes to use for lighting and so no way could they have computers to do the AI

what was his name beat me to it lol
-
Shame as I will miss his side and backward passing

Can you buy a ticket at the ground? I wonder how many Cherries will be in the home section

Any club that came to us would laugh at us. They are cocky as they have decades being 3rd to 4th rate and have their opportunity to gloat. Ifwe win then their gloating will stick in their throats.

If we only get £7m for Salisu then we have been turned over.

Probably one of the same priks who said Redmond was rubbish
-
My god, I do hope you are right. You need to get a bet on that. Personally I'd divide it by 2 for goals scored. ( unless we get 10-15 penalties ) He may do the double figure assists

A relative is a conspiracist theory type. He now says that the submarine accident was a big cover up as the Billionaire was due to face charges re corruption?? I cant recall exactly what it was, as I shut off as he started telling me
-
I doubt we will get £30m for him. He is not rated the same elsewhere than he is by our fanbase
-
He wouldn't come back and rightly so, he's too good for us

As there is little football to listen to, I thought I would go and listen to the official podcasts. I have found it really interesting as they picked apart performances post game, especially as I know the outcome. The NJ period ones were enlightening as they were positive in how we were improving and more front footed. What was also very apparent though (wolves home lost 2-1 ) that how unfit we were, and how the players had lost the ability to press for long periods. I have enjoyed listening to it , even though the results were very unfortunate. Reminded me how we were so close in games but our lack of cutting edge and defensive frailty cost us time and again
