  1. Im sorry, but this will upset quite a few on here, but JWP is the major reason for this as his first thought is safety first at all costs. If there was data on passing backwards, I suspect he would be top of most lists. I don't wish us to give the ball away but playing no risk, negative passing football means we are not going to create the chances we need to actually score. JWP is obviously a good footballer, but he seems to have a hangover of preseason and perhaps disappointed not to have gone elsewhere
  2. Redmond doesnt look so bad now, does he At least he would have run with the ball and as per last season actually made chances (on par with what JWP did last season) Where are we going to find the striker from? We seemed to get the ball and pass backwards constantly for the keeper to lash up field and then lose possession. The commentators or any on here haven't picked up on Ashley Youngs studs down the leg of Moi, it was a very cynical thing he did, very well disguised, IMO Im sure he meant to do it.
  3. Should have sold him when his stock was high.
  4. What a rubbish performance, nothing to hold our heads up about, especially when the world saw that game. I was pretty upbeat before last night but now am thinking more about a real struggle this season
  5. Pompey are doing quite well at present, all a bit annoyingly, but they are doing well. Shame Scarlet is there doing the business
  6. If that is the highlight!! Ok Steve Morans goal at FP was probably his, but ours was to actually win a game in the FA cup rather than get a draw in a team that was to be relegated
  7. Sad to see him go, but pleased that he will have a fresh start with fans who may support him rather than bring him down. Thanks Nathan, one of the few players in the last few seasons who could make a game exciting
  8. I dont think a comment of that pathetic nature deserves to be bookmarked.
  9. I truly hope it works for him. Good luck Nathan
  10. Yes, I agree the concept would be wrong, but having an experienced player helping a youngster with advice is of a high value. The Walcott extended contract seemed mad and has become so even more now. Some older players are good at helping the youngsters, others or not as its not in their personality. There is the added complication of the older players being threatened by a young player taking his place in the team.
  11. Well I disagree, a player who you respect will give advice a young player, they are most likely to take that advice on. If you dont see that then Iam surprised.
  12. He was viewed as a reliable presence in Hasenhuttl’s squad, especially when there may be uncertainty as to how Tino comes back following such a lengthy absence Is it just me who feels the wording of this may be ominous?
  13. Had to lower their offer to help pay for their dugouts. No doubt they have built a monument to the fact they were the first club to have them, although there was a spate of bus shelters going missing at the time.
  14. Thanks Whitey
  15. I dont know MLG , but we have to understand there are people out there he contribute who may have issues such as autism, I notice a poster said they did yesterday. I have a business friend who has Asperger's and life is very difficult at times. Therefore IF a poster seems full on perhaps we should actually sit back and show some understanding, we are behind computers afterall! I suggest there are a lot on here who believe they are major personalities and feel superior to the rest of us mortals. To me MLG should come back and be welcomed, you dont have to read his posts. I only glance at most posts, and suspect most wot read this either Lol
  16. Have we option to buy
  17. IMO he will be a very good addition.
  18. Fair point but do we need to be so worried about it, if he had said Derby, Ipswich, Norwich or the host of middle range clubs then I would react.
  19. Brushed over him not wanting to play for us last season due to playing for Poland etc
  20. Villa are a bigger club than Saints. I dont see the problem with that. They are the major club the the nations 2nd city so their fanbase etc is much bigger. They are European winners as well as numerous FA cup winners. They have done us a massive favour, and once Bednarek plays the way he does for us, those most wonderful of fans will soon show him how good they are. As for his haircuts!!!!
  21. Well he didnt phone me to say goodbye. Rude I reckon
  22. Who was the forward who scored against England home ad away for Slovakia(?) He looked a good finisher and a decent player
  23. No they have been reading your opinions on here and that gave them more confidence to sign him 😃
  24. Being a Saints fan so long I expect on deadline day just tumbleweed blowing around in the picture
  25. Barkley may be the person to add a bit of experience to the midfield if Oriel is off
