Not popular observation but Redmonds dead ball delivery has been superior to JWP
-
there goes my weekend again!!!
-
I have to hold my hand up, I was wrong it seems this has been a fantastic success for anyone who believed.
-
I think you underestimate Dycheball , he always finds a way. Corney is scoring as well. Funnily enough I feel it is not cut and dried. Before the season started I thought Palace were in danger but they have been able to rebuild with young strong athletic players
-
Thats what the Roma fan said. He was given 3 chances to prove that 'He could do that' and failed miserably. Im sure most of the people on the match thread would be unable to pass the ball let alone take a chance
-
Roma took a fan who criticised the team and got him on the pitch and he was useless, This would be so good if our club went to the match thread and picked a few of our goons out to do this
-
I think if we could sell him and replace him with one of 2 players then it should be done. I personally feel he slows our game down and gives the opponents time to reset. No denying his gives his all but it comes to something when a recycling midfielder is the player we need to get excited about!!
-
and he wouldnt be with us if he did. Then of course you would give him pelters for not being loyal and staying lol
-
I agree that it was a terrible miss, but he gets abuse much of the time. Personally i think he is mentally strong as he is subjected to so much bile by the uneducated at games. Anyway I still enjoy what he gives on the pitch

reading some of you latest posts I think you need to take some of your own advice
-
That is it, you hadnt seen the other times (most of them crap) and so Adkins success is rightly seen as a massive achievement, I personally dont get the same warmth, but I dont resent people who do worship him. As for his record since is relevant as it may point that he isnt that good but had a purple patch with us, with hungry players playing below their standard
-
Did I say it wasnt a good effort? I believe he had good opportunity to win both titles and the old First Division trophy (now given to Championship winners) something that from a young child wished it could have our name engraved on it, was not to be but should have. It is not the trophy to the younger generations mindset that seems important but watching the great Leeds, Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa, Forest teams lift that trophy was the holy grail. Yes it was at tht time the premier trophy but it would still be wonderful to see our own club captain lift it.
-
I know it is heresy but I do not have the same worship or opinion of him. I believe at the time the hierarchy (NC) thought he should have won the titles as well. Hence his soon departure in the PL. Im not saying he was a poor manager for us, but his record since has not been impressive either.
-
They are good fans, period. Hampshire humour
-
I agree, I never quite felt the same about him than the majority. Personally he should have won the League 1 and the Championship.
-
Yes it would be fantastic, to my mind t is a ponzi scheme but now there is a etf being traded it will make it stronger. Amazing to read that man who put 10k bitcoin for sale at $50 a long time ago is now worth 470m !! Hindsight, and the young mainly believe in it and so it will keep it alive
-
thought it was good, not many CEO's would go onto a podcast
-
Yep some up the pylons that day. I recall the scramble to get out after to meet the Brighton fans in the parks and train station
-
We had the perfect owner, but our luck was he was taken from us prematurely. These new owners will push the price of players fees and wages up further making us even less likely to compete. Perhaps Jamie Ohara is correct, we are a waste of time in the PL

Mr Bruce could you please visit our Embassy.......never to be seen again lol

That could be seen as the arrogance of the scientific world. I have quoted a few occasions where academics have been so aloof that that they have missed basics. eg the space probe where millions of dollars were spent and the thing ran out of fuel as some calculated in gallons others in litres, how a Southampton university professor told me and my father in the 1970's that all the elements had been found and it was impossible that were any more, and also the Southampton Uni with the secret to some kind of fuel revolution, again missing a basic calculation. Please do not think Im discrediting a Phd, I left school at 16 and so have no paper qualifications, and so admire your work.

Hi, thanks for your reply and you put across good points. I agree that there is something going on but I wonder if mans arrogance that it is all down to him may be a problem. Nobody has come back and accepted that population more than doubling in only 60 years is not the major contributor to pollution. As I said, our consumption will have increased more than the doubling of population as the 21st century human uses more than they did in 1960. Therefore we will have to reduce each and everyone's consumption by more than half to get back to that place. I understand this is a basic way of looking at it, but I think it is how more people will understand it rather than looking at graphs. You and your people look at graphs all the time and totally understand them, but to most people who are in other fields just see lines. Science is fantastic and has helped mans progress, ironically a lot of it will end up destroying us.

I was born in 1959 (yes an old fossil to most of you, but your arrogance of youth will disappear pretty quickly as you soon get there as well) at that time the worlds population was circa 3.3bn just 60 years later it is approx 7.7bn. Consumption alone of all commodities will have increased accordingly ( probably more due to our society now) Therefore in laymans terms we all have to decrease all our consumption bymore than halve just to get back to those 1960 levels. Good luck with that. I may also respectfully add that Climate Change is a massive business with 100,000's peoples jobs tied to it. Including people on here, big business and self interest. Sky have a climate show on every night FFS, they have to find stories to frighten the kids, who a large part are living in fear. Its cynical and not right. I notice that the polar caps are the coldest for decades, obviously a coincidence but had they warmed they'd be all over it. I read about medieval warming and the mini ice age in the 1600's odd that

As I was an impressionable kid when I watched them through rose coloured specs, the Alehouse brawlers team are hard to discount for me. They werent technically gifted but they surely didnt take prisoners. As I say I was a starry eyed school kid and could never understand why the mighty Saints ever lost a game. I hope youngsters of today have the same thrill as I had of the 'Old' Dell experience before the sanitised modern matchday experience.
