  1. Amazing that Zovachic did a bad tackle that injured Redmond and didnt get a yellow.
  2. I get that, at one stage there was talk of him costing £35-30m. Of course having a CL club would have always stopped him coming to us. I personally think we need an athletic tall forward, or even player in our team lol. We just seem to have a team of nearly strong players, nearly quick players and nearly skilful players.
  3. Probably but considering the commentators keep telling us that we have the best dead ball taker around he may at least get his head to one or two of them
  4. Well you could live in the airy fairy world and think that the club is only there for the fan or be realistic. Do you think that SFC is a non profit making organisation? The boards responsibility is to the owners and employees first to make sure there is a business to keep them in profit/work. Then comes the customer (fan),I like most are lambs to the slaughter as we are captive customers due to our loyalty to Southampton Football Club (me as I was born there and have a sense of civic pride). If the club was called Marks and Spencer football club or McDonalds football club I would have left this bane of my life yours ago, but as its apparently representing our city by name I put up with all the rubbish that has been thrown at me for over 50 years of watching. It is a commercial businesx there to make money , if possible not just to get 11 men on the pitch to provide entertainment
  5. Add to that his 4-5m a year contract, probably with add ons would tie up 20m( may have been 4 year contract so 20M)on a player who is injury plagued until he was 33 or so. I understand why we miss his loss but we did the correct commercial thing at the time. whether we spent it on the right replacement time will tell. May have been prudent to have sold JWP for the 35m and got Abraham and another midfielder
  6. I agree JWP is a tidy player but slows everything down and passes sideways or backwards. Surely the 30m could have been used to buy 2 players.
  7. i dont get the hype re JWP, the amount of free kicks and corners he takes and rarely does he find our player, although when you have dwarfism in the frontline it is difficult. The whole Wolves team look far more athletic than ours. As for bednarek what a pathetic attempt it was his ball
  8. Is it not also ironic that we have a world worried about too much carbon dioxide, that we have to have a large company opened to produce it!!!
  9. In a perfect world , but the club is reeling after Covid and has to cut its cloth. I watched a game of saints on Big Match revisited (WBA away) we had a kit on with no ads at all and it was refreshing to see.
  10. I havent looked into it, but I cant see why this has happened all of a sudden??? Surely the shortage f drivers was there weeks ago. Is it a case of Amazon etc offering so much bonusses to join them has made the drivers change companies
  11. It would have been, but the magnitude of going back with our tails between our legs would completely finish off our reputation in the world.
  12. Sadly we cannot rejoin as we would go back a wounded animal and have to go back with worse terms that we left with. Add to that they would certainly make us jettison the pound. We would be told to sit in the corner and be quiet. Our standing in the world would be in taters. It is with great sadness that we have made the biggest mistake in our countries history. I do not like the European project but I dont like us being alone and we in the next 18months will see our standard of living drop, add to that high inflation. Obviously the convenient Covid situation will be blamed
  13. I think he can be rubbish for most teams, he did us a massive favour ( although had given some bad decisions that day) by whistling early when we were 9 down at Utd. He could have been the ref who oversaw a 10 goal victory that night but he didnt play the injury time.
  14. I wish DM was a biased as John Williams is for Bournemouth, he never says a good word for the opposition and very partisan, thats what I like, DM is far too balanced lol
  15. imo Blackmore is a very good commentator and listening/watching to some of the commentary added to images he really does do good stuff. Just playback his commentary linked to the Liverpool semi final when Long scores, its magnificent
  16. To me the save at City to get us our point was more important
  17. if you watch the game again, he was in a similar position and tried to put the ball across the box but it was cut out, he tried the other option the 2nd time. As for Jenas, they have to find somebody to pick apart and if you looked at AA's game you could have foumd 3 or 4 examples as well. Its TV they fill time
  18. Another thing we get a nil nil away at City and there are still moans lol. I doubt many expected anything, I did tell a another Saints fan I felt we would get something today, I just had the feeling
  19. I watched that twice, the first occasion he has 2 options he went for the player closest to him, and the ball across the box would have to be very precise the second! he was running in the opposite direction when AA made his run and so would have had to do a back heel or the like. I suspect AA run was to make space as it did. Had they done a similar piece on any of the City forwards they could no doubt find bits where they should have made a btter or perfect pass. Anyway its like talking to a brick wall he will never win people over. As I have said previously had he have all the skills he would have gone elsewhere and we would be spitting bile for being disloyal
  20. They play different positions! Perhaps Tella could but not Broja
  21. The sad face of football forums. I suspect every club have the players that are always the hate is channelled at. Watching the match thread you'd think he never does anything as peoples minds are poisoned. Romeau did a badly weighted backheel that apparently was Redmonds fault for not getting to. Watching it on playback he couldnt have got it, whilst it was said he should have anticipated that Romeau was going to do something that he has never done before and so be ready for it. Had he jumped in and not got the ball they would have been on the counter and of course he would have been wrong for that. Personally I think he is an asset and had he have all the attributes that make him a special player we would be pouring bile on him as he had gone to another higher placed club. Any of our players who stay long term are average, the really good ones clear off.
  22. of course lol
  23. Well you were frigging quiet about him when he came on and helped gain us a point at Newcastle
  24. Yeah lets take a risk and when we lose to a sucker punch it will be cry all the way home. WHU are a good side and we have to be cautious as we need some points on the board
  25. That's the one, he was a bit reticent to join in. Fred was delighted to kick around a ball with some starry eyed kids, I would have been about 9-10 at that time
