Why is there no use grumbling? We had plenty of time to try and find a CB. A whole window in fact. Now we are resigned to signing a 29 year old CB who has been injured for a year and has been a free agent for over 7 months, who's also not match fit, who will command a fairly high wage and possibly a signing on fee, who Palace had on trial and decided not to sign. I'm not saying he'll be a flop or anything but what part of that paragraph sounds like the workings of a well run and thought out transfer window?

Forster has been really poor this season. Our system made him look better than he was under Koeman, with the protection in front of the defence we were averaging one of the lowest amounts of shots on our goal in the league. Now we play a little more open at the back he's being found out. He's just not that good.

Palace were apparently looking at Careces as back up in case they didn't get Sakho. They got Sakho and now have a full compliment of 25 players so they can't have him even if they wanted him. We need him, let's get him but in reality, we've become so desperate, we're signing Crystal Palace back up targets because they offered more in wages for our #1 target.

It's obvious he's out for a little while but even so, Fonte needed replacing. We are very light at the back even without another injury, with one we are ****ed.

He did though, we just buckled at the wages and loan fee but at the end of the day, he would have been a top signing for us and COULD have been the difference between relegation and winning a cup or not. Amateur hour from us.
