Apparently Sakho's 105k a week could be a big problem.

It's not sustainable at all.

Well I can't comment on the behind the scenes stuff as I know nothing about it.

I would not begrudge him at all if he goes back to Portugal. He always said he wanted to finish up back home. If that's the club that have tapped him up then I can totally understand him putting in a transfer request to join them. He'd go with my full support.

We need a natural finisher. Redmond is not that. He played well against Liverpool from the right wing. Hopefully Puel sees that's his best position now. Keep giving Jay games and it may start to click.

We are on a message board though. People should be allowed to discuss their opinion be it positive or not. There are a couple of blatant trolls on this board but other than them I see a lot of people moaning about positivity or negativity. If everyone had the same opinion, this board would fold.

I'll give you the diving bastard bit but Sturridge is an excellent finisher. He'd do well in our set up imo. He's the exact type of forward our system could do with. Add to the fact that he's far better than anything we have. His only question mark is his fitness, but sometimes a change of scenery is all that's needed. Look at Wilshere now for instance.

The point being it shouldn't have got to that. Yes he was booked for his reaction but that was a blatant foul on Tadic. The ref was poor for us all night. Didn't book Lucas either when we were on a counter and one of our players was pulled over. In the new rules, that's an instant yellow as well. He was a joke.

So just because he looked rusty in one game you don't want him? ok. Hardly his fault was it? He had next to no service whatsoever. He's still a quality player that usually scores against us!

Absolutely this. I was seething at some of the decisions he gave Liverpool. The yellow for Tadic was one of the worst ones. He got fouled ffs!

Oh and one more thing I forgot to mention. Yoshida was brilliant. Again.

Would like to see the same side but a few of them looked like they picked up knocks. VVD pulled up with his back as did Redmond. Clasie had bad cramp. Hopefully there's enough time for them to recover. Really want to see Jay up top again. He's starting to benefit from the game time he's getting now and is looking pretty sharp. Couple of goals here and there and i'd say he's well on his way to getting back to where he was for us.

Got to say, I was really happy with that performance last night. A bit of a shame we couldn't score a couple more but nevertheless we played very well. Redmond was absolutely everywhere and I hope everyone appreciated his tracking back and defensive work rate. He was everywhere and was clearly ****ed when the whistle went. Finishing aside, that was his best performance in a Saints shirt. Thought Classie, Romeu and Jay did well as well. It's only a slender lead and the pessimist in me still thinks we will go out BUT i'm very happy that we stepped it up. Hopefully they can carry this into the weekend!! One more thing, I've been quite critical of Puel lately as I was sure he was losing the dressing room but i'm happy to admit I was wrong on that front. That was a team clearly playing for their manager.

The stories on Sakho have come from the liverpool echo and were written by journalists with credibility when it comes to liverpool transfers, so it hasn't been leaked by us.

Whilst I think Fonte did very well when called upon in the Euro's, he didn't play that many games and had Pepe next to him when he did. I don't want to down play how well he's done for us as he's been a fantastic servant but imo Sakho would be brilliant next to Van Dijk.

I personally think to many people have bought into the media hype over Fonte. He's been a very good player for us and has been reliable but he's not one of the best in the league. His greatest asset is his leadership and organising the back line which can be invaluable but he can be quite error prone at times. Imo Sakho when fit and playing week in week out will prove to be a better player. Add to the fact that Fonte is 33, yes I think Sakho will be a step up.

Sakho is a step up from Fonte, so i'd be more than happy to see him come in as his replacement.
