Hampshire are working on getting Michael Lumb back. You are correct about the other players. Rod Bransgrove was not pleased about the way Ervine got out. Nor were the rest of us!!!

Brentford 0 - 3 Saints - Post Match Reaction
Weston Saint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Great win keeps the momentum going. I appreciate Plymouth and Walsall are fighting for their lives BUT SO ARE WE at the other end of the table. Class should see us through those tricky games. Let's hope it is a win on Monday and we can all enjoy next Saturday. I am quietly confident now. Wins at Brighton and Brentford were massive for us. -
Myburgh has a slight hamstring and they will look at the reaction over the next 24 hours but there is a good chance he will be available for Monday

Just an update Geoff Miller, Chairman of Selectors, met with Michael Carberry this morning for a chat. Good to see he is keeping in touch I spoke to Carberry after. He still has problems and does not see any chance of a start before July at the earliest. I will not go into details I spoke to Dimi. He is getting there. I asked if he would be back for T20 as previously suggested. He said yes and likely before then. Kabir Ali is playing for the seconds but there is still some doubt about his recovery! Won't say more at this stage. Jones is still fit.

I think you should seek help. I certainly will if your 8-5 comes true!

Spoke to Nic Pothas, he should be back for Wednesday's game. I also had a chat with Jones wife. She says he gets very little reaction to his original injury. Swelled up a little in Barbados but more due to the heat. Little niggle from time to time but no more than expected after a career threatening injury. No sign of Carberry. Dimi was around and looking to be close to returning (probably for T20) Kabir Ali also about and looks close.

Vote for more than one candidate and your second, third or fourth choice could knock out your first. If it comes in I will only put a 1 against the candidate I want. I will not be grading my vote and damaging my first choice. No to AV for me

It is Matt. Confirmed by his son and I know some of the followers are good friends of his, particularly the cricket ones with Hampshire links.

Saints 1 V 0 Bristol Rovers, post match sighs of relief..

Just to clarify, Lallana has a groin injury niggle but hopes to be back for Brighton next week. As I said earlier on this thread Adkins wanted him to start but the Physio said no. -

Poor game from Saints yet again but I will take the win. Barnard looked to have a nasty injury but Connolly was imense when he came on and changed the game in my opinion. Never wasted a pass, movement, understanding of where to be and I see him building a good partnership understanding with Guly if he can stay fit. As for Lallana, Adkins wanted him to start but Physio told him no way. It is the groin injury he got at Charlton niggling him. He hopes to be fit for Brighton next week. -
Look at the Championsip favourites Somerset......Won the toss and put Warwickshire in.....scored a massive 642....bowled Somerset out for 210 and following on they are 13/4.... We are 20-2 Adams gone. Now our hopes rest with out South Africans...

Trent Bridge is a seamers wicket early on in the season. Let's see how Notts perform when they bat before drawing any conclusions.

Rochdale 2 - 0 Southampton - Post Match Reaction

I agree with everything said in this post. Sums up my views and I think, many of our supporters. -
Spoke to Cork before beginning of play today. Wicket still flat but they are worried about the footholes. Very good batting from Adams and Dawson this morning. That session was all about remaining at the wicket. Likewise the afternoon session. Draw is very much the favourite

Disappointing morning. Pothas given lbw when it was clearly too high. He was not a happy chappie. Jones limped off mid over with a groin strain. Spoke to Bobby Parks and he thought it was not bad and more of a precaution. Tim Tremlett thought about 2 weeks. Cork then came off mid over but that was cramp from the high work rate he had undertaken yesterday. Rested and returned mid afternoon. Durham continued to plunder our weakened attack on a very good batting wicket showing very little movement or turn Well done to Stokes. An England all rounder looks a certainty in a few years in the Collingwood role if not Flintoff No scares from Adams or Dawson and 87-0 shows just how good this wicket is. Do not expect it to change tomorrow and it is just a tiny bit possible we can hold out and dare I say it win the game! Harmerson bowled a couple of overs but then went off again. The medical team were sat on the boundary whilst he ewas out there and scurried back to the changing room as he came off. Doubt we will see any more of him this match. Plunkett looks ineffective. Think it will be up to Thorp (who has bowled well throughout the match) and the spin of Blackwell. Stokes cannot continue to perform can he??? 96 overs again tomorrow for the final day split between a minimum of 80 overs up to the last hour and a minimum of 16 overs in the last hour.

Harmerson off with hand injury. Poor performance by our batsmen in getting out too easily to poor shots. Uphill struggle to save the follow on.

Review here http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/hampshire-v-durham-cc-preview/ Carberry to miss the first half of the season is a blow!
-
Spoke to Nick Pothas, he will be wicket keeper batsman. Spoke to Rod Bransgrove. Kabir Ali is about 2 games away from playing. He is working very hard, if fact a bit too much and he has a little injury. Bransgrove could not talk more highly about his and Simon Jones application and enthusiasm to get fit and playing again.
-
Can now confirm Carberry out for the beginning of the season as he has not recieved medical clearance for his blood clotting problem. Tomlinson also injured at present and will not be in the squad for Friday's match. On a more positive note, McKenzie arrived at the Rose Bowl today and is ready for Fridays opener. Any more news and I will let you all know.

If Carberry is out, I will try to speak to him or one of the other players this evening I think the team might look like this in batting order:- Adams (vice captain) Myburgh Vince McKenzie Ervine Howell or Dawson Cork (captain) Bates (wk) Kabir Ali or Jones Briggs De Wet or Griffiths
