  1. Unwanted distraction? Well for some supporters like me who want to see league success yes. For the players, no. It gives them a chance to perform on a big stage. They will love it and as others have said, 6-0 away to Oldham days after beating Blackpool suggest we can cope. May be just as well the Charlton game was switched again.
  2. I agree. He had a decent game against Blackpool and tried hard yesterday but for whatever reason he fails to make a difference. Flatters to deceive. Yesterday was a great chance to come out from the shadow of Lallana (assuming that was one of his confidence problems) but he failed for me. Not being critical of his miss. Guly and Lallana miss similar chances almost every week. It is his positive contribution that is missing although he did put one pass through to Guly which may show why Millwall rate him I think we need to keep him as a squad player but would not mind if he goes providing we can get a better player in
  3. Norm, if you give them the 4 membership numbers you will get 4 tickets. Friend of mine bought 4 using all our season ticket numbers over the phone and gave me mine yesterday.
  4. No not that either. Final word as I no no more than that at present and I am going to enjoy a good bottle of Merlot now.
  5. One thing I can clear up. It is NOT his Cruciate Ligament
  6. The club will not know much more until Wednesday at the earliest. That is why I am saying it is pure speculation and so do his family.
  7. This is not correct. It is all speculation at this stage.
  8. Good move for him and well deserved. Charlton are not guaranteed promotion and Crystal Palace likely to come down. Burnley is the best choice and gives him time to develop in a higher league and if he does the Premier Clubs will come knocking. I am sure Burnley will expect him to take them back to the Premier
  9. Bloody nuisance. I could have made 25th Jan but cannot make 5th April.
  10. No runs for 2 wickets. Hants require run
  11. You cannot tell a Saints fan Pompey have a better history. You cannot tell a Pompey fan Saints have a better history. You are wasting your time debating. Do some thing useful
  12. Against Barbados on Thursday
  13. I would, subject to injury expect the line up for the first Championship game to be: Adams Carberry Lumb Vince McKenzie Myburgh Pothas Cork cpt Tahir Tomlinson Jones I think Mascarenhas, if fit might still be at IPL. However with Ervine's all round experience gone it is so important to have him fit or find a good all rounder. I know Myburgh can spin it but this is early season when seam/swing will be what is needed. I also worry about Jones for my above team as if he breaks down during a game we have no one to turn to. Might even bring Griffiths in, dropping Myburgh and pushing Pothas back to 6, Cork Tahir and Tomlinson up with Griffiths coming in at 10.
  14. Won our warm up game yesterday http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/myburgh-stars-as-hampshire-win-windies-warm-up/

  16. Has confirmed he will play in World Cup so will now be considered an oversea's player and will not see out the last year of his contract with Hampshire. Big blow but not unexpected
  17. Simply said we had two big bids in but that Cortese will not pay over the odds Also said the atmosphere among the players was fantastic. Areal happy bunch of players
  18. That was what I was hearing yesterday. I asked my contact "Is Guly likely to sign" "Looks like it" was the reply. "Is it dependent on his wife having residency confirmation" "Yes" "Are the club cool about it" "yes, they are not expecting any problems"
  19. If season ticket holders are given a short window to book their own seats that will not apply to the Northam as that will be handed over to Man Utd supporters.
  20. Nothing on the Ervine situation Steve. He is joining Hampshire in WI and will talk with White. Hope he decides to stay loyal to Hampshire. Will be a massive loss if he decides to play for his home country again. As for De Wet, the comment on injuries from Gile White may explain - “It may well be the case that we have to manage the players through the season and not everyone plays all cricket, especially the bowling group. Dimi’s [Mascarenhas] had a big operation and he’s working hard over in Melbourne hopeful that he’ll come good and play but he’s a long way off at the moment. Kabir’s [Ali] the same – he’s got a lot of work to do and, at this stage, it would be unrealistic to think he’d play all cricket. Nic’s [Pothas] doing well though and hopefully he’ll be strong from the start, as is Jonah [simon Jones], and Michael Lumb has made a full recovery. Griff’s [David Griffiths] coming good and has started to bowl again although we’re waiting on another scan for David Balcombe. But it’s a big group of players to have question marks over to be honest.”
  21. Imran Tahir - Helped Dolphins to an 8 wicket win with 6/134, 32 no at No 11 and 6/82 - What a star. Neil McKenzie - 70 for Lions in First Innings 61 no so far in second innings bad light delayed final 4th day start Friedel de Wet - Also playing for Lions 1/75 off 29 overs and 26 at No 9 Looks like they will all turn up for us with some form
  22. No idea, doubt it. Here is the latest on injuries from Giles White “It may well be the case that we have to manage the players through the season and not everyone plays all cricket, especially the bowling group. Dimi’s [Mascarenhas] had a big operation and he’s working hard over in Melbourne hopeful that he’ll come good and play but he’s a long way off at the moment. But it’s a big group of players to have question marks over to be honest.”
  23. Due to start 7th April Dimitri Mascarenhas to Punjab for $100,000. Michael Lumb to Deccan for $80,0000
