Isnt it time to name-and-shame "the group behind the scenes" ?
Weston Saint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
It was not Dave Jones. -
You should be able to do it in just over 2 hours, M3, M4 etc. Game over at 5pm say - 20mins to get out of Southampton. Reckon you will be there by 7:45 latest. I drove there a few years ago on a Monday afternoon, left at 2pm for a 6pm start and got there at 4pm!

"Fans Love Players like Puncheon... who take people on...."
Weston Saint replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
From a respected supporter from another place when he went on loan to Millwall I also had a comment from within the club when I asked where Puncheon was when he was not even on the bench - the reply "he tweaked his back" and added....."probably picking up his wage slip" -

I suspect it was more than the supporters who turned on him. -

Out on Friday night and an unreliable source mentioned to me that he had heard Puncheon and Seaborne had a fight. After that Puncheon finds himself benched and then loaned to Millwall and Seaborne out of the squad with an injury that the infamous leftback hinted was broken ribs. I wonder if there is any truth to the rumour? -
Russia have never held it before but for our bid to have only 2 votes beggars belief. Only ourselves and Turkey voted for us! Are we a shoe in for the next world cup is Brazil fail to get the infrastructure in place?

This was the article, the subject of the op - http://www.fansonline.net/southampton/article.php?id=914 And here is a post on the Ugly from the writer of the above article I should point out that I was just talking ****e and trying to stir things and have no idea if anything happened. But I do think it was very odd to take Lambert off, even if he had a slight knock, when we had made two subs and the keeper was struggling and twice needed treatment for the same injury http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_mb.php?m=v&t=12419&r=127212#127212

I have always realized you knew who he was. It does not matter though as he has gone from this forum as a poster. His disappointment of Cortese, however, started to go further than that when he hinted at personal battles involving players and disclosing teams selection before players even knew, IF the 4:30pm day before rule is correct.

One thing that suprised me yesterday was on two occassions Lambert had an opportunity to go for goal but headed across a crowded penalty area. Almost as if he had a bet on himself not to score. It is either a confidence thing or he is not bothered. I am getting concerned it is the latter. Not at all suprised to see him come off at half time.

Just to let those who are interested know that the web site is updated with stories at least twice a week. Worth a regular visit if you are interested in what is happening with players during the close season

Nice article here http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/489188.html

Shame about Holmes, felt really sorry for him. It was in the ankle area. When he went down he slapped the pitch in frustration. As for the game, Saints were a b it pedestrian, particularly in the first half. Lifted the game in parts in the second. Hammond had a good second half. Gobern was poor and ineffective in the first half but his confidence and ability started to show through in the second and good to see him get on the score sheet. Bart had a decent game but was not tested much. One good save in the first half. Lallana/Hammond my joint men of the match

Give it a rest Hypo. Why should the Administrators tell anyone other than leftback why he was banned. As long as he knows. As for interesting he was devisive and sharing private information on a public board. He never revealed his sources and I doubt they would be happy about it being public unless they to had an agenda. Go to the game like I am just about to do and support Saints not leftback.

No it is about effectiveness and Schneiderlin has so far been ineffective in my opinion, the stats just back up my thoughts.
-
They say statistics do not show the whole picture but the undernoted provides a decent picture of Schneiderlin's ineffective central midfield role. Figures are based on league only since start of 2008/9 season (2 years plus this season so far) Appearances as starting in the lineup - 72 Goals - 1 Assists - 3 Shots on - 21 Shots off - 38 Hit woodwork - 1 Fouls - 121 Yellow cards - 16 Red - 1 Not worth his place particularly when you realise that Hammond is mostly providing the holding midfield role. This is why I have come to the conclusion he is a luxury we can no longer afford. Let him go back to France in the new year. English football just does not suit his style or temperament

It is al about bringing in better players than we have at present. No point loaning someone who is not going to follow up with a signed contract. That is the difficulty Saints face. Never thought we would get anyone in the loan window. Now January, that is a different matter.

Blackstock just been ruled out of football for a year with NF. They will now be favoutites to sign Fryatt on loan
-
Their injured defender suffered a cut to the thigh needing stiches.
-
By the way Schneiderlin out on Saturday with suspension for 5th booking. No loss
-
Agree with your assessment Duncan. Downer for me was Chaplow out and the poor showing of his replacement Schneiderlin who failed to get forward. Good overall performance but Brighton were well organised at the back. We were closed down a bit too easy at times thought.

Black Stump is now an Aussie wine. Not too bad either

Bill it is lovely here. The sun is shining as dusk approaches. Should be 2 or 3 degrees so almost balmy for you. Atmosphere and football at SMS should keep me warm. If not I will ask Dave for a cuddle
