Then we must win 6-0 so we don't go into Europe with a humiliating scores against deficit.
-
That is true, but we do like to see a few goals at home matches. I don't think that is unreasonable.

I don't get this United are playing their second string team so they will be pushovers thing. Why would they not be playing to win? They have next season's career ambitions to want to play their very best. Just don't let us (and our footballers) get complacent. We always lose when we do. -
Sh*t =wba score 3-1

.. and Leicester thrash Tottenham
-
yippee! 3-0 and we're in 8th place (with just three minutes to go.

I don't care about ManU's fortunes, but for us this is actually a seriously important match for our final league position. Brom have a better goal difference at present and I can't see them beating Man City. In any case we have an advantage in playing our 37th game a day later, so we will know exactly what we need to do. If WBA don't snatch any points tonight and we do not lose against United we will be at least one point above them and we should beat Stoke on Sunday, which could make our final position 8th. This would be massive, and amazing after our topsy-turvy season.. I can't wait to for the result of tonight's ManC v WBA game. Who said the season's over? -
But he did score (according to the BBC)

An interesting one this. Many relegated teams put on a good response, free from fear of losing. Do we go all out for attack, or clam-up for a 0-0 yawn? If we don't win we could slip down two or three places, and that could be that for a top ten finish. 1-0 Borough I'm afraid, their winner scored by Gaston of course.

I couldn't get to the match as I was working, and after spineless and sorry 0-0 displays I wouldn't have bothered to make the long journey to Southampton. However it does appear that we showed up in the first half and played better football until Arsenal's superior quality and tactical nous overwhelmed us. So I feel better about this 0-2 loss and nil points than our hapless one point 0-0's. Bad management for whatever reason is to blame, and we have the quality upfront so there is no excuse for our appalling goalless run.
-
How come. Don't you want a top four finish? Or even West Brom's place? Very achievable if we only try.
-
Including Long and Austin on the bench

It mystifies me that sometimes we do get everyone behind the ball and do advance upfield, and then we can score goals. But our default position is not to stray too far from midfield and thus to starve our striker(s). Gabbi isn't getting the service he needs. In which case, bring on Cuco. He scored spectacularly from midfield against Arsenal not so many months ago.
-
So it's going to be another 0-0 then
-
My heart hopes for a win at long last against a top team following a storming performance with Gabbi and Long scoring 2-0. My head will settle for a boring 0-0, and I won't bother to attend the predictable boring fare that is served up these days.

When we are playing like relegation candidates who have lost the plot as a result of poor team selections, lack of motivation and inspiration, someone in Saints hierarchy has to notice and take action. The teams below us will overtake us on current form.

Only the summer selling market to make news now.
-
Come on now. We've gained a point on West Brom. That's good enough, surely. yawn
-
Oh dear, I wish you hadn't asked. I don't think there is one.

How do you think Barton's betting influenced the Burnley/Saints result?

Whatever happened to the Ale House Boys?

Leeds or Wednesday for a change, and both are biggish clubs who have been wandering in lowly positions for too long.
-
But if we had won the EFL, job done, wouldn't our season still have been over?
-
When we turn up and employ the right tactics, that is. Man City were beatable but last week we were pathetic and nowhere showed the spirit and determination of our Wembley appearance against Manure.
