I'd imagine that's already been bottomed out with the agent. Plus I don't think we're particularly poor payers, just look at our wages v turnover... monstrous.

It's TalkSport FFS.

Everything's for sale at every club, at the right price. Someone offering us over double what JWP is realistically worth, course we would sell. As would most teams.
-
I read the Nixon comment simply as Villa still would like JWP - which I'm sure they do. Doesn't mean we will sell though. Imagine they will bid £35m, we will reject it, they will move onto someone else. Ings and JV to go this year, suspect JWP will go next year. As an aside, isnt JWP due a testimonial this season?

If you read the rest of his post, it tells you.

Forgot it was the school holidays. What’s a prawn gay sandwich?

*insert joke about the Ox replacing Ings in physio room*

I think many fans share your feelings CL, not just Saints fan either. Bearing in mind the impact of finances these last 18 months, the fact teams have still spent £100m, £97m and £75m on a single player makes you wonder what’s the point.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
ErwinK1961 replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
Seconded. He’s had about a 6 month period where he looked to be worth his fee, the rest of the time he’s been garbage along with the rest of our defence. Hope with the funds we can make an improvement back there tbh, someone to displace Bednarek who, for reasons unknown, seems to have completely lost it. -
I very much doubt he is the ‘Ings’ replacement - suspect he is the ‘second’ forward player we are after Who number one is is anyone’s guess

Beggars can’t be choosers and all that, but not a fan of loans with no option to buy. Also, well called SS
-
Yup me neither. I think your Broja shout is probably the nearest I can think, but it won’t be £5m! Would love Delap, but he would cost way more than we’d be willing to pay, especially if we want 2.
-
Reads to me that they want two forwards, one of which could be a Livramento type deal. Not two plus an academy signing. Armstrong - basically not happening Sorloth - not an option Eduoard - too expensive Abraham - only after a loan, Chelsea want sale so not happening Fck knows who our main target is then.
-
Sadly, I think you have this spot on.
-
Probably because Blackburn aren’t accepting £12m plus extras.
-
Course they are, they’re looking at fcking everyone.
-
Backing off… because we have moved onto someone better? (Yeah right) Or backing off because it’s getting too expensive for us / we’ve been told he’d prefer Palace?
-
-
Strikes me as a Brewster type signing - a lot of hype. Hopefully we wouldn’t end up as shite as Sheffield Utd.
-
Have you seen a St Mary’s crowd? There will probably be some gentle booing, before he notches a goal then it’ll be silence.
-
Nah I don't think so. Lovren was just a complete and utter helmet, stayed for a year then had the whole 'my head is at liverpool' nonsense. Just a generally unlikeable bloke. Nivea boy did the whole 'want to finish my career here' then 5 minutes later was telling everyone who'd listen that he was leaving and would strike etc, plus the fact he still had a long contract. Ings has never really pretended he wanted to stay, or said anything derogatory. He just didn't sign a new contract. He won't get a hero's welcome but he won't get vitriol either.
-
Do they want a 6ft 6 Danish centre back whilst they are at it? £20m should do the trick..
-
Saint Garrett mentioned he had a text from a friend saying that this had been sorted for three weeks, training was shite, hated Ralph etc. So it's not first hand info (not knocking SG for passing it on).
-
Probably because we had dross like him playing for us.
-
The write up on the OS generally gives a good indication of what terms that player is leaving on (see Lallana v SRL). Surprised there hasn’t been a bit more Ings considering his contribution, which would suggest he hasn’t left on the greatest of terms.
