Relegated Teams - Players who would you buy from their Squads?
ErwinK1961 replied to le_tiss's topic in The Saints
Sadly I think anyone worth a look at will be outside of our price range -
I’m afraid not.
-
👌 see what you did there
-
I would be surprised if Utd are in for him - seems a bit raw still and they have Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly, Tuanzebe who would probably all be ahead of him in the pecking order. Would be more concerned about the Everton interest

West Ham v Villa last game of the season could be interesting...
-
Our wage bill is (was) £23m more than Wolves - mental.
-
Agreed. Really don’t see him as a huge loss, don’t think his level is much more above us. The bigger issue will be if our recruitment team are remotely capable of signing a replacement. There are a number of players out there who could do the job, but I have no faith in our competency to fill the gap.

Not all are live streamed, there was one earlier in the season that wasn’t live streamed at Staplewood. Video of the full event was then put on YouTube a couple of days later and there was a fan who put a load of info on Twitter about it straight afterwards.

I loved Wanyama when he was on his game for us, him and Morgan in our midfield were a superb partnership. However, the way our midfield now play under Ralph is different to the Koeman era - it's all about legs and stamina. Can't see Wanyama bringing that to us, especially if it's true about his knees.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Hull have an additional year option on his contract, so he isnt actually out of contract this summer. Apparently they want mega bucks for him which is fair enough, so that will certainly rule us out, plus as others have said we need defenders/centre midfielder and will not have hardly any budget to do it with.

Director of Football Operations Replacement Thread

Totally agree - good to have a serious football brain in a senior position. The academy/coaching has been poor and deteriorating since he left, would be good to have him back. -
This isn't football manager.
-
Based on the fact Kelvin Davis doesn’t coach the GK’s, I’m guessing not. I’d also argue Gunn does come off his line, which has led to some awful moments (Bournemouth, Wolves etc) Other than that, you could be onto something.

I thought it was a fart sir, I thought it was safe.
-
My understanding was we had someone lined up, so long as we shifted Lemina before the UK deadline, but we didn't.
-
He scored in a 1-0 win at home against Chelsea after Xmas - also scored earlier in season at home to Liverpool in 1-1 draw.
-
Absolute b*llox.
-
Defensive midfield for me. Lacking in depth and quality. We are weak at CB, but with the sheer number we have we can’t justify buying another one until we’ve shifted Hoedt, Stephens and possibly one more, which isn’t going to happen in January. Plus a quality DM will help take the pressure off the defence anyway.
-
Parallels to last season, in that our first win was 2-0 away, in a game we didn’t play well and probably shouldn’t have won, with a goal in stoppage time to seal it. Just hope the rest of the season doesn’t pan out the same.

Richard Kitzbichler - new Asst Coach
ErwinK1961 replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
He does the video analysis, which I believe is what Rohl was credited for before he went. -
The denial by Liverpool fans in that twitter thread is hilarious - one of them has used the justification of "loads of people thought Hitler didn't die... doesn't mean it's right." What a bunch of whoppers.
-
Whoever is in goal will have nowt to do anyway, they should still comfortably beat us. They have played two games this season, they’re hardly going to be tired.
-
Not sure our midfield will be quite up to the standard of Chelsea’s tbh to exploit it
