I have to say I was pretty impressed. He's taller than I remember, strong in the tackle, physical and reasonable quick. How come we let him go for a dozen marbles and a packet of liquorish allsorts but kept a plethora of midfielders without most, if not all those atributes.

Sparv always reminded me of a World War 1 officer - classy, aloof, cultured and not prepared to get his hands dirty. IMO he would not have hacked it in the CCC.

Many people moan at Surman for not being more physical etc. and yet people say we should have kept Sparv. Come on guys get real.

An almost perfect description of Morgan Schneiderlin, the difference being Sparv didn't cost a large, highly debated amount of cash.

FWIW, I never saw Sparv play, but always heard decent things about him. Out of all the players in the youth team, he would have been one of the ones I thought would make it into the first team.

Like I said before, we should've kept him. Young, talented and a great attitude. I honestly believe that we would still be in the CCC if he'd been in our team this season. Hope he does well for himself in the future, because he deserves it.

I saw him a few times for the reserves and he had as much about him as Schneiderlin, if not more. Another silly decision not to keep a scholar who would have had more commitment and should have been brought through fully..

Yeah, and probably not the type of British footballer physically abusing their body on the Saturday night lash.

It really surprises me that footballers seem to be one of the few groups of professionals in sport that have a considerable element who behave this way. Now I like a drink, I'm a creaky old veteran playing low level women's football normally off the bench, but when my international clearance came through in the middle of last season I changed my Saturday night drinking habits (we play on Sunday).

We could probably do with a few more players with his attitude. You get the impression that he'll improve and we all know the ones we don't think ever will...
