Colinjb Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 It no longer matters what they say. Such a pity.
alpine_saint Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 Unless we know the conditions the FL made and when we made them, why is it safe to assume Pinnacle are taling b*llocks ? Maybe the FL really torpedoed the deal, or maybe Pinnacle really were bullsh*tters all along, but at the moment it isnt clear to me either way. alpine_saint Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 It might affect other potential bids A good point. IF (and its a big bloody "if" at the moment) another deal completes, and the FL conditions become clear, we will know either way.
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 30 June, 2009 Author Share Posted 30 June, 2009 What did they actually say thenAll they said is that Pinnacles backers were not happy with the FL's stance on the the points deduction, and that it ruined they're timeplan to get SFC back to the prem. lol
Saint dyer Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 if the worst happens.....the football league ad pinnacle will have blood on their hands
OldNick Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 It might affect other potential bidsI doubt it, it is well known that there is a problem with the additions by the league and so it will be the first thing any bidder will look at.
LostBoys Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 Shock horror headline 'FL cause Pinnacle to back out' I think it was predicted last week this would be the excuse trying to cover up the fact they did not have a pot to **** in
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 With the maximum penalty facing the club -25,-27 you have to look at the cost of a league 2 side, nowhere near what being asked for at present
krissyboy31 Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 IMO, there are a lot of people culpable for where we are now (i.e. collapse of the Pinnacle group). Tony Lynam and his backers (whoever they were). MLT for allowing himself to be suckered by these people. Mark Fry for trying to sell the club "with a good chance of overturning the 'illegal' 10 point penalty" and Malwhinney for making the rules up as he goes along and then insisting they cannot be legally challenged. kelkel31 Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 we do not know what the **** has been going on. Mark Fry has been useless, the pinnacle consortium has possibly been less than honest and the FL seem to have had a far bigger involvement in the purchase of what in its own words is a 'business' than it ever should have. now if the FL has proved to be the biggest obstacle i would implore TL or MLT to make a formal statement stating fully what the conditions of the FL were, if they were infact 'illegal' and release any document that would expose this. surely the FL can be charged with 'bringing football into disrepute' and as such big changes that are needed can start to be made. we as a club already seem to be ****ed,any exposure is unlikely to have a detrimental effect of any future deal as any bidder should already be aware of them. maybe the only thing left for Southampton Football Clubs legacy is to bring about much needed change in footballs institutions, publicly exposition there actions to as a minimum 'the court of public opinion'
