What happens next and when?

Is anyone else wondering when we will hear in more detail about the big vision for the future of the club? Nothing significant from ML. NC or AO yet. Maybe some kind of timetable, or regular bulletin/update would help.

This combined with players and coaches being released without replacements seems a little odd with the season just over a week away. Surely new players are needed now so they can play before the new season starts, we are on -10 so need a good start. We can't wait in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong I am very happy with the takeover, and AP as manager, but more communication to the fans and the media would help in my opinion. This might explain the reason for the delays.

Not sure how much more you want/expect at this point. They signified their intentions when they saved us from oblivion and I guess they are still working out the detail of how to get us back to the Prem. They've only beenthere a few weeks - have patience my friend.

As far as the new Board is concerned there will be an announcement in mid August. This was announced at the time of the completion of the takeover. Football matters are in the hands of Alan Pardew and the lines in future will be well divided. I believe we've made huge progress already and you don't necessarily bring in new people when others haven't left yet. Negociations and awaiting other clubs to decide or also replace players we want can slow things down.

Patience and faith in the manager would be a wonderful thing. The turnabout against Hearts showed things are happening, let's hope that the match against QPR will install further confidence. More haste, less speed, and I'd rather he gets it right than panic buy.

I take your point Art that panic is not a good thing, but very little has been communicated in the last 2 weeks that gives any vision for the future. I am sure that plans are being made but poor communication of this could be a mistake. I think that having an "owner" could bring problems of this kind ie ML has no obligation to keep fans updated on progress so I hope this is not overlooked.

I would add that possibly only having Matthew Paterson up front, and no assistant to AP so late in the day is a concern when we start the season on -10 in 9 days time......

I'm not sure the club needs to come out every 5 minutes and declare its plan and or intentions.

Yes we have had it rough and none of us like being in L1, but we deserve, as a football club to be here. We lived beyond our means and paid the price. I for one hope the new approach is sensible, yet constructive and paves the way for prolonged success, with a steady ascent rather than peaks and troughs

Agreed Stevo - lets build our foundations on stone and not sand. It takes time to build those foundations and from what I've read and the actions so far that seems to be happening. We've all suffered from hasty decisions being made about SFC in the past.

There is a five year plan for returning to the Premiership. with money available as appropriate for the next manager, in stages to fit the plan. The full executive, including a Sporting Director/Director of Football will be appointed in August. The latest statement from the club re-iterates that new players will arrive within days, and the Solent Forum has been delayed until September to make sure all new appointments and players have arrived beforehand.

What more would you want to know? Aren't you just struck with a tiny bit of panic? If so, remember: "If you keep your head when all those around you lose theirs..."

Appointed Harding despite no previous announcement and beat Hearts in AP's first week.

I would be more than happy with considered and staged improvements like that. Better than lots of hype and filling the team with more Molyneux's and Pulis's. And perhaps the new owner has told AP that he has to ship out the dross which is contaminating the squad first? An important part of the job, imho.

I concur wholly with these views.

ML/AP want to build on firm foundations, not on sand!

No! The five year plan was Pinnacle.

I think the postponement of the Saints Forum is significant. Firstly they must be busy and secondly they realise that even their short term plans will still take a few weeks to sort out. Once a bit of dust has settled they'll be in a better position to give an idea of plans and their will be more to talk about following signings, first few games etc.
