Time for a not-so-negative thread, time to be realistic.

We're 9pts away from positive figures.

Where are the three wins going to come from the next games? I'm hoping its well before the end of September. COYR!

Dream on...

Seriously you look at that list, forget we are in League One and think we could beat all of them home or away, then you remember where we are and how we mullered Swindon :(

I think end of October could be ambitious to get into positive figures........ there is an awful lot to be done to mould the players into a unit capable of winning a football match once, let alone for than 3 victories.......... I said at the very beginning that avoiding the drop again would be target number one this season and I still believe that........its not being negative, its living in the real world.........I fully expect Saints will be in the bottom 3 at Christmas and to buy in the January transfer window.........just enough quality to escape the drop.......... and frankly, the way things are at the moment I'd take that as a successful seaon.

IMO we'll win the next 4 out of 5 games (Not the Charlton game, loss there), and by the first of October we'll have +9 points. Then we can really start attacking the top half of the table.

I think Saturday's game vs Brentford is the day we turn it around, and show we have undoubted quality in the team. We still two CB's, a RW and a pacy striker short, but we'll get there by deadline day 5pm IMO.

Firstly, delighted to get Dean Hammond, a good player who will add some quality to the midfield, but i still think he needs a partner. Brentford on Saturday will be a massive game, but if we do not bolster what is a poor set of centre backs we wil get beaten again. I honestly dont feel that we will sign them before the weekend. I said on Staurday ican see thi sgoing horribly wrong, and i still hope im proven wrong. This a tough league for the unprepared, and we looked horribly underprepared last nite. For 4 seasons ive gabbled on about no centre backs, no central midfeild, and until that is sorted, we will be bottom for a long time. The relegated players are used to losing, they dont know how to win, so winners must be brought in!

Pardew had a good squad when they were relegated with Charlton and h emanaged to drain the life out of them, lets hope that isnt happening again, but the similarities arethere to see ( without the good squad ofcourse). I like Pardew, he talks alot of sense and was excellent at West Ham on the whole. But, he doenst look like a man with the answers to this league, last night was a feable as anything from last season.

-9..... I hope it will only be three more games till we reach nought, but if the current trend continues, it could be three months.

+17 points after those games. Just need a centre half and winger and to drop Wotton.

Looking at that list I really don't have a clue where our points are going to come from.

Before last night I had in my mind that we would beat Swindon and beat brentford but after witnessing that pile of sh1te last night I cannot imagine us getting anything on Saturday.

Unless pardew pulls his stubborn head out of his arse then we will again struggle.

That's why Swindon was such a kick in the nuts. My predicted route to wiping out the minus ten was draw with millwall, lose at huddersfield, but then win against swindon and brentford before getting the final three points in the next game or two.

But last night rather ****s that prediction up.

Ah well, roll on Saturday.

The team as it stands at the moment will win 1 or 2 of these maybe... so AP needs to create a team from those at the club plus any more he intends to bring in a mould a team, otherwise we shall still be in minus numbers well into November.
