trousers Posted 1 October, 2009 Share Posted 1 October, 2009 (edited) "The takeover had been Cortese's idea. Intelligent, hard working and happy with his career, the 40-year-old was a successful banker in Switzerland and Liebherr was one of his clients. Southampton had first appeared on Cortese's radar in 2007 when he read stories linking Microsoft's Paul Allen with the club, but it wasn't until he received an e-mail in April that he seriously considered the club as an investment." praise where praise is due. Without the hoo-ha and conspiracies about Paul Allen on here cortese may never have heard of our plight! SFC Forever Posted 1 October, 2009 Share Posted 1 October, 2009 Us weirdos don't very often get appreciated on here, so here's a great big thank you.
Verbal Posted 1 October, 2009 Share Posted 1 October, 2009 That gave me a nasty start, trousers. I never thought I'd see the name of that little twerp tommac appear on here again. I think you might have forgotten that tommac - probably accidentally, knowing him - ramped the club's share price so high with his tosh about PA that any prospective buyer would have run a mile. He caused immense damage. As for us, well you're quite right - we are a force for good and all that's right in the world. Even Delldays. (No...what I am saying?) Pancake Posted 1 October, 2009 Share Posted 1 October, 2009 Pretty sure that the inital PA stuff had **** all to do with that freak Tommac. I still cant believe he had the nerve to register and sniff about on here during the real takeover.

trousers Posted 1 October, 2009 Author Share Posted 1 October, 2009 (edited) I think you might have forgotten that tommac - probably accidentally, knowing him - ramped the club's share price so high with his tosh about PA that any prospective buyer would have run a mile. But, it could be argued that his actions (or rather his words) made the 'story' international and thus planted a subconcious seed on Cortese's subconscious radar. So, when he opened the email in April this year making him aware of the Southampton FC 'opportunity, who's to say that he wouldn't have simply filed it away with all the hundreds of other such speculative emails he must get every month, had he not had that earlier awareness of the supposed Paul Allen interest. Never under estimate the power of the subconscious human mind I say.... No Tommac = no PA story in 2007 = no months of debate on here = no denial from Vulcan = no international awareness of our plight = no Cortese awareness = binned email in April 2009 And there you have it.....The conspiracy theory of all conspiracy theories. Wes Tender Posted 1 October, 2009 Share Posted 1 October, 2009 Cortese seems to be a decent and approachable guy. When somebody from on here meets him at some stage, why don't they just ask the question of him and then report back to us?

Cortese is currently in correspondence with a Nigerian General helping him to get his money out of the country, a 22 year old bored and lonely Ukranian girl who wants to come to England and a Canadian pharmacy who have assured him that he will be able to keep Mrs Cortese very happy.
