Nineteen Canteen Posted 12 February, 2010 Share Posted 12 February, 2010 (edited) Did anyone else hear Kevin on Talksport this afternoon? We was the fan's representative in their weekly slot to predict the results of the main games at the weekend. He was inevitably asked about the Saints v Pompey rivalry and how the fact Pompey may be out of business should a replay be required. I was wondering if Kevin was a regular poster on here and if so will he reveal his identity. I am guessing he isn't or at best a very casual poster because he spoke a lot of sense - he even showed up Mark Dennis which isn't difficult and I was surprised to learn he was at Fratton Park on Tuesday night. Anyway, Kevin fair play to you if read this I thought you did us proud even though your prediction that Palace will score 2 against Villa was , how can I say, ambitious? 2-1 to Saints - your voice couldn't hide what you really think and sensed you really wanted to say 1-1 as the most likely result and like Hawksby said, that could be a win for us anyway come the 23rd/24th Feb. Somehow couldn't bring yourself to admit we may not beat them tomorrow especially on national radio and I don't blame you. Hope reigns! saintchris23 Posted 12 February, 2010 Share Posted 12 February, 2010 "we 'were' " or "he was" I think is what you were looking to write NC! I must have missed it but fair play to the fella. Certainly can't wait for tomorrow, especially since my pompey clients have been on the phone the whole day trying to wind me up!
Gemmel Posted 12 February, 2010 Share Posted 12 February, 2010 NC, it's valentines day on Sunday, if you send a card to Talksport, I'm sure they would pass it on to Kevin for you :smt052

Saint_clark Posted 12 February, 2010 Share Posted 12 February, 2010 Don't be too hasty in your judgement NC, from what I gather he was rather fond of that Le Tissier bloke.

I have no problem with that and could be MLT's life coach or business advisor for all I care, doesn't discount the fact he represented us well today IMO. Seemingly doesn't post on here either from which we can draw an interesting conclusion.

Gemmel Posted 12 February, 2010 Share Posted 12 February, 2010 Why? Because you said Kevin was a Saints fan and most Saints fans think you are wrong.

OK - you had me worried there as usually I am a fairly good judge of character. (Btw - most fans on this forum does not get close to equalling most fans) +( I don't believe most fans on this forum post what they really want to say for fear of being verbally abused by the mob who post to be popular and be in the gang)

St Landrew Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Yes, I heard the Predict The Score slot today. I thought Kevin gave a very good account of himself, although when he predicted Aberdeen vs Celtic, I think he said 2-1 to Celtic, which illicited a bloody cheek from the Scotsman presenter, who's name I can't remember. Mark Dennis was entertaining. Watch last Monday's Late Kick Off to hear Jonathan Pearce declare Saints will beat Pimply. Good for him.

They held back or didn't post at all. I know for a fact some fans who regularly read this forum don't post for fear of a verbal pasting from the usual suspects. Not about to betray confidences but I have the pm's to prove it. They read the threads with interest but feel unable to comment? Why would that be? From a marketing perspective it doesn't tick all the boxes because it is not representative of the broad cross section of Saints fans only those with a very strong passion bordering on a healthy? obsession. If this forum represented all Saints fans every game would be a sell out . If you wanted to conduct prison reforms you wouldn't base it simply on market research based on the views of the inmates. This forum is not as powerful or representative as some would like to believe, if it was why would the Saints Aid concert last year have flopped so badly. I guess if people felt brave enough to speak their mind in the first place it may have been cancelled before they pushed ahead after all that positive market research. For the record Gemmel I am not as weird as people would like to believe I just try to be 100% honest in my opinions on issues so subjective at times only the arrogantly ignorant would class them as right or wrong. I don't argue with undisputed facts i.e. McMenemy is our most successful manager to date but I am not bothered either about posting my hope that record doesn't last another 5 years. He has chosen to stay away for whatever reason I just hope he doesn't change his mind as this club doesn't need him anymore - IMO on just another subjective matter. Wrong with a capital W Did I say all? Plus I have private messages (which will remain private) from other forum members in support of my past comments but reluctant to put their head above the parapet and who can blame them at times. Looks like Kevin is one of those or perhaps more refreshing a fan who shuns or is unaware of this forum. So I am not wrong despite your insistence and failure to read my post. Could it be conceivably possible that RL's little letter was not self penned? That it could possibly have come from a member of this forum? I couldn't begin to guess who that poster might be!
