Saintjersey Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 What an absolute joke they were. They were starting on all passers by and hit a few saints fan. I told the copper and they basically just shrugged their shoulders thinking what can I do... Terrible. Tip: Never throw a 2p or 10p coin at anyone, they have the trajectory of a beer mat. However a old style 50p or £1 coin are alot heavier, causing them to be more accurate, painful and damaging. Paid for a few beers though so happy days. Back to the OB though, when the inbreeders were pelting us in Itchen North with bottles, coins, chewing gum and other assorted projectiles, they were more interested in seeing where the retaliation was going to come from, even when one of them got hit by a coin. Pompey mates, WTF is that about? Going back to the question. Ken Tone Posted 15 February, 2010 Share Posted 15 February, 2010 not true. i went with 2 pompey mates, was waiting for them for at least 25 mins afterwards Both sets of fans were let out at the same time, but the coaches didn't get away for about 30 mins. Your mates will have been held up in the car park outside the northam. Damn silly tactics from the police. Would have been much easier to control things with the pompey fans inside the ground, and clearing away most of the home fans first, like they would do at just about every other ground in the country. Personally I was stuck in the car park directly opposite the ground for about 30 mins, looking at a completely empty road to the left (ie towards the Chapel end), but the stewards had been told not to let us out by the police until the coaches had moved, even though they were to the right. And then when they finally did open the gates we were told we had to turn left anyway! Glad I wasn't parked in the Freeborn garage. Saints fans damaging other Saints fans' cars .. not good. K. northam soul Posted 15 February, 2010 Share Posted 15 February, 2010 More to the point we were kept at the plume until 12.20 by the old bill so missed the first five minutes. There must of been a few hundred people there jammed in the market place and all the old bill would say was we have to wait for orders before letting you go to the game. All it did was make people more wound up and cause more grief.

Mao Cap Posted 15 February, 2010 Share Posted 15 February, 2010 had a coin hit me too, bit wastefull, i thought they needed all the money they could get That occurred to me as well, 50p piece hit me, I picked it up and thought "See, that's the careless attitude to money that's got them where they are now...". There's very little that can be done about chucking coins - they're practically invisible in flight, and even if coppers did identify someone throwing one then ejecting them would risk a mass brawl. Right arsehole thing to do, though - throw something into a stand and it could hit anyone (the coin that hit me could easily have hit the 11-12 year old kids in front of me, for example). Far worse than having a fistfight with the enemy in my book.

Saints foreva Posted 15 February, 2010 Share Posted 15 February, 2010 The Police in the Northam were a complete and utter joke. When they scored a couple of their fans tried to get onto the segregation and they did nothing but when we scored... The Police acted quickly, and tried to keep fans in their seats in the Northam Stand, especially those who were right next to those fishy ****s. And after the game, why let both supporters out at the same time? I suspect many Saints fans had to take a longer journey home because of that which is wrong considering its our city. The Hampshire Police always pick on the home supporters at St Marys when theres a big away following. Look at Manchester United last season, they were utter ****s that day aswell. stockportsaint Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 Ive seen it posted elsewhere that it is apparently "against human rights" to lock people in after games now. Well that wouldn't apply to Pompey fans then surely? Don't understand why they weren't kept in for at least 20-30 minutes to let the majority of the Saints fans disperse. When we went to Millwall, even though there's no major history of aggro between us, the police kept us in for a good 15 minutes, then we were held in the walkway for the trains for another 10-15 minutes.
