Wembley FREE Coach Parking

I have decided to go public with the details... mainly because there is something in it for me ( so please quote Stu when you book )

I have been in contact with the landlord of The Green Man Hotel is 5 minutes walk from the West entrance ( Saints end ) to Wembley, the pub is licensed from 7am and they will open as soon as the first coach arrives. They have car parking, minibus and coach.

Coach parking for Southampton fans is FREE as long as you arrive 3 hours prior to kick-off, it's also on the other side of the ground to the main coach park, meaning it is easy to get in/out of and you avoid the hour wait after the game if you want to get away quickly.

There is food available all day, BBQ and normally 4 or 5 bars inside and out, so little waiting time.

For further details contact Mal on 07506 840652 ( and quote Stu ;-) )

Think they should quote my name instead, seeing as I'm the one who put you in contact with him... ;)

The Green Man - I visited there before the 1976 Cup Final.

Full of Mancs back then...& I remember a particular reference to a barmaid...still she'll be nearly 60 now!

Don't remember much parking - but a very big beer garden!

REMEMBER it well

full of mancs with accents from all over the country , our tickets hid in our socks.

out numbered 3 to 1

complete reveresal this time, lets hope we get our 2nd victory in a final

Just spoken to Mal and booked in..

It's NOT free for minibuses, just full size coaches.

But he only wants £15, so it's still a lot cheaper than the Official coach park....

He will take your details, then send a booking form and take payment.

Couldn't be easier........

F**k me, does it really have a licence from 7am :) Although, this post puts me off using it, as was hoping it'd be one of the quieter pubs around Wembley!

How much is it to hire a coach though?

Between £700 and £900 for a 53 seater on average. I got one for £850... but that includes a super early start and 3 pick-up points / drop-offs and a late finish.

*Tip... get a quote for a straight trip to Wembley... when they quote you then state you have free parking, they will have to knock £50 off whatever they quoted you.

It naturally happens but according to this guy, Carlisle are directed to the north of Wembley and Saints directed to the West.

Far enough, just can't see how it'd work like that, more to do with the first pubs that people find and can get into, without knowing which end they were in.

The vast majority of the pubs at Wembley are to the west, that'd only leave Carlisle with the Torch to "the north" of the ground.

Not sure who will take over Baker Street on the day either.

Yes, it's a 'hotel'

When I asked what time will it be open he replied " whatever time your coach turns up mate, we are licensed from 7am "

Worth Saints fans booking digs there with the trains stuffed on the morning of the 28th, roll out of bed and have a pint at 7am, perfect :D

Unlike most, my visit had nothing to do with football at Wembley - instead it was because I was going to see ZZ Top at Wembley Arena. The place was recommended by a football loving friend who had been there on match days. Quite a large pub with a big car park - which was virtually full in spite of there only being a handful of people in the pub - go figure! I was obvious that most of the people in the pub had just come from the gig I had been to. Can't comment on the quality of the ales as I was driving, but the staff seemed a bit disinterested and a Red Bull and a packet of crisps was quite expensive. Otherwise, not a bad place to drop in for a bit of refreshment while winding down before the drive home.

Was hoping for more from this pub after the utter dross on Wembley high street, but was sadly dissappointed. The food and beer was Ok, but nothing to get excited about. Bombardier, Tetley and Courage on draught as well as dozens of lagers, non of which were very well kept. The Bombardier had a particular aroma, akin to sweaty socks. I got really excited when I saw Halibut on the menu, but was less than happy with the slither of over cooked fish that turned up covered in sweet chillie sauce. First and probably last visit me thinks.

have been to the green man 3 times with chelsea, and once with england, when we are playing at wembley.

average pub, but its got a decent open plan on mtachdays and a realyl good large covered smoking area outback which means you can create some really good atmosphere.

will be going back againfor the fa cup semis (at least) this year.

So, OK, I was at the Green Man recently on a quiet Thursday night. Good beer, good grub, followed by a stumble down the hill to my hotel room before flying home the next day. I found the pub relaxed and friendly, the beer reasonably priced for England (ie, just eye-wateringly expensive), and the mixed grill substantial. Since nobody goes to Wembley for the atmosphere, this pub was a pleasant surprise

Very dissapointing, slow service and it was not that busy - helps if your known as then there seems to be no queue! Beer not kept that well, stick to spirits or bottles if you decide to visit. I won't be going again.

It is Saints fans only with regards to the coaches and parking... it will naturally end up being Saints fans only anyway because Carlisles allocation is at the opposite end of Wembley.

This of course assumes that people will actually look at their tickets before they get near the stadium, or go to the stadium first and then come back and pick a pub nearby.

In my experience most people find out which end their seats are about 2 minutes before going into the ground, so to think there won't be any Carlisle fans around just because the pub is not at their end is a bit naive.

O.K... I am looking on youtube and that green man seems to be taken over each time by teams allocated the west stand.

Also it is the opposite end of the stadium to the main coach park.

It's not naive... we are on that side of the stadium and we have twice as many fans... he is also only taking coach bookings from Southampton fans... it will be a Saints pub... end of.
